Game Repeller "Hubertus"
Item no. 71 00 54
Intended use
The product activates a built-in VHF radio and an LED light via a PIR movement sensor. The
period during which the radio and the light remain switched on is adjustable; the volume of the
radio is also adjustable.
The unusual noise and the light drives away game animals. The selection of a radio signal
instead of e.g. a fi xed preset signal tone makes it diffi cult for game animals to get used to the
noise since with each activation, via the PIR movement sensor, the built-in loudspeaker trans-
mits different noises (music, speech).
It is operated with batteries.

General instructions for batteries and rechargeable batteries
• Batteries/rechargeable batteries must be kept out of the reach of children.
• Check that the polarity is correct when inserting the batteries/rechargeable batteries (pay
attention to plus and minus signs).
• Do not leave batteries/rechargeable batteries lying around; they could be swallowed by chil-
dren or pets. If swallowed, consult a doctor immediately, it could be fatal!
• Make sure that batteries/rechargeable batteries are not short-circuited, dismantled or thrown
into a fi re. There is a risk of fi re and explosion!
• Old or fl at batteries can leak liquid chemicals that may damage the device. If not used for a
longer period (e.g., in case of storage), remove the inserted batteries/rechargeable batteries.
• Contact of leaking or damaged batteries/rechargeable batteries with the skin can cause acid
burns; therefore, use suitable protective gloves.
• Always replace the complete set of batteries / rechargeable batteries. Do not mix batteries/
rechargeable batteries with different charges (fl at and half-discharged batteries/rechargeable
batteries).

The function of the PIR movement sensor is based on the recognition of quick change of
heat in the detection zone, for example, in case of an animal passing by.
Set the time during which the game repeller remains switched on when the PIR movement
sensor has released. One rotation towards the right increases the duration (max. approx.
7 min.), a rotation towards the left decreases the duration (min. approx. 15 seconds).
This switch sets the heat difference at which the game repeller activates the radio/light.
At low sensitivity, it is triggered, for example, only when larger animals pass by; too high
sensitivity can lead to false alarms.
Move the rotary dial downwards beyond the catch, then the game repeller is turned on the
volume set.
If the search does not fi nd a transmitter any more, press this button to restart the frequency
search from the beginning.
Press this button briefl y to search for the next strong VHF station. The search run stops
automatically. To continue the search run, simply press the key again. Select a radio station
as strong as possible with good reception.
Insert the batteries with correct polarity (observe plus/+ and minus/-). Take note of the cor-
responding fi gure in the battery compartment.
A rechargeable battery may be used to operate the game repeller, but due to the
lower voltage output (rechargeable battery = 1.2V, standard battery = 1.5V) and
the lower capacity, the service life is much shorter, which means that rechargeable
batteries need to be frequently changed/charged.
Moreover, rechargeable batteries are more temperature-sensitive than normal ones.
Therefore, we recommend that you use high-quality alkaline batteries to ensure
long-lasting and reliable operation.
If you still want to use rechargeable batteries, we recommend using NiMH batteries
with low self-discharge.
The battery compartment can be left open for function tests and adjustments, but
moisture must not be allowed to get into it.
