Wild animal repeller
Item no. 71 00 15
Use in accordance with manufacturer's instructions
The product is used to scare away animals by means of an ultrasonic sound that is not audible
to the human ear. The product is powered via NiMH rechargeable batteries or normal batteries.
Alternatively, an external wall plug transformer may be used (not included in the delivery, can
be ordered separately).
An inbuilt PIR motion detector detects heat changes in the detection range (e.g. if an animal
moves in the detection range) and activates an ultrasonic sound.
Any use other than described above may damage the product, there may also be other dan-
gers. Observe all the safety instructions in these operating instructions.
Read these operating instructions completely and carefully as they contain very important infor-
mation about installation, operation and handling. Observe all safety instructions!

Safety Instructions
The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to ob-
serve these safety instructions! We do not assume liability for any resulting
damage.
We do not assume any liability for material and personal damage caused by
improper use or non-compliance with the safety instructions. In such cases
the warranty will be null and void.
• The unauthorised conversion and/or modifi cation of the product is inadmissible
because of safety and approval reasons (CE). Never open/dismantle the product
(except as described in this manual for inserting/changing the rechargeable bat-
teries).
• The product is not a toy and must be kept out of the reach of children. The product
contains small parts and batteries/rechargeable batteries. Position the product so
it is out of the reach of children.
• The product is suitable for operation in unprotected outdoor areas. However, never
dip the product in or under water as this may destroy it.
• Do not leave packing materials unattended. They may become dangerous play-
things for children.
• Handle the product with care, it can be damaged by impacts, blows, or accidental
drops, even from a low height.
General information on batteries/rechargeable batteries
• Batteries/rechargeable batteries do not belong in the hands of children.
• Check that the polarity is correct when inserting the batteries/rechargeable batteries (pay
attention to plus and minus).
• Do not leave batteries/rechargeable batteries lying around; they could be swallowed by chil-
dren or pets. If swallowed, consult a doctor immediately, it could be fatal!
• Make sure that batteries/rechargeable batteries are not short-circuited, dismantled or thrown
into a fi re. There is a risk of fi re and explosion!
• Conventional batteries must not be charged any more, there is a risk of fi re and explosion.
Only charge rechargeable batteries that are intended for this purpose; use suitable battery
chargers.
• Old or fl at batteries can leak liquid chemicals that may damage the device. If not used for a
longer period (e.g., in case of storage), remove the inserted batteries/accumulators.
• Contact of leaking or damaged batteries/rechargeable batteries with the skin can cause acid
burns; therefore, use suitable protective gloves.
• Only use batteries/rechargeable batteries of the correct size and the recommended type.
• Always replace the complete set of batteries/rechargeable batteries.
• Either use 4 batteries or 4 rechargeable batteries. Never mix normal batteries with recharge-
able batteries.

PIR sensor features
The PIR motion detector responds to temperature changes within the detection range, e.g.
if a person, an animal or a car with a different temperature to the detection area enters the
detection area.
To ensure optimal motion detection, the motion detector must be placed so that the object to
be detected does not approach the motion detector directly but passes from left to right or vice
versa. Bear this in mind when you choose a suitable location for installation.
The range for detecting motion is determined by several factors:
• The motion detector's mounting height
• Temperature difference between the moving object and the background (environment)
• The size of the object
• The distance of the object from the motion detector
• Direction and speed of the movement
• Ambient temperature
Getting Started
a) Operation via batteries
• If you have an external power supply unit connected to the animal repeller, remove it. Re-
move the circular plug from the low voltage socket (9).
• Open the battery compartment (7).
• Insert 4 batteries from type AA/Mignon with correct polarity (observe plus/+ and minus/-).
☞
• Close the battery compartment.
b) Operation with external power supply unit
• First remove the batteries or rechargeable batteries that are inserted in the battery compart-
ment (7).
• Connect the circular plug of the power supply unit used with the low voltage socket (9) on the
underside of the wild animal repeller.
• Connect the power supply unit to the mains socket.
The device may be operated with rechargeable batteries instead of regular batteries.
However, due to the lower output voltage (rechargeable battery = 1.2 V, battery =
1.5 V) and capacity, the service life is shorter. Furthermore, rechargeable batteries
are more temperature-sensitive than conventional batteries. With low temperatures
in winter a frequent battery replacement is required.
Important
Without fail, observe the operating manual of the power supply unit used.
Bear in mind that most power supply units are not suitable for use outdoors and may
be operated only in dry, closed interiors!
Otherwise, there is a risk of a life-threatening electric shock!
