7. Commissioning

a) Setting the Suction Basket
The suction basket can be adjusted in 3 steps, depending on the degree of contamination of the water to be conveyed.
Proceed as follows:
• If the dirt water pump is already working, first disconnect the mains voltage and pull the mains plug from the mains
socket.
• Pull out the suction basket in one piece via the star-shaped bottom piece.
• Twist the suction basket according to the desired setting. An arrow on the
edge of the suction basket must match the marks at the edge of the dirt water
pump.
A = short mark = 1 mm
B = long mark = 35 mm
C = 8 mm
• Release the suction basket again so that it latches.
Important!
The suction basket prevents that too-large dirt particles or objects enter the dirt water pump. If there is a
great amount of dirt particles in the water, the suction effect of the pump may clog the openings of the
suction basket.
The dirt water pump therefore must never be operated without supervision.
The suction basket, the hose diameter at the exit of the dirt water pump and the shortening of the L-shaped
hose adapter required due to this are also important for setting.
If the hose used is too thin (or if the L-shaped hose adapter is not shortened correctly), too-large dirt
particles may enter the hose adapter/hose and clog it.

b) Connecting the Hose

The diameter of the hose connected to the dirt water pump depends on the degree of contamination of the water to
be conveyed.
As already described in chapter 7. a), the suction basket must be set accordingly as well.
The included L-shaped hose adapter offers the possibility of connecting hoses with different diameters because of
its shape.
Depending on the hose, the hose adapter can be cut with a fine-toothed saw (e.g. iron saw). Proceed in the same
manner if the screw thread of the hose adapter is to be used for connection.
Secure a plugged-on hose against removal by a suitable hose clamp.
Of course, the hose adapter can be replaced by other suitable hose connections as well if the threads match.
