• The ceiling-mounted motion detector is suitable for installing on a ceiling. The ceil-
ing height should be about 2.4 to a maximum of 3 m.
The ceiling-mounted motion detector's sensitivity is reduced when it is
mounted on higher ceilings. That means that only large object with a differ-
ent temperature can be detected.
• Make sure you fix the ceiling-mounted motion detector to a solid base, e.g. masonry.
Use screws and, if necessary, screw anchors that are suitable for the surface.
• The ceiling-mounted motion detector must be installed such that it is out of the
reach of children.
• Start the installation by removing the cover.
For this purpose, the ceiling-mounted mo-
tion detector has a little slit in one place.
Use a flat screw driver to lift the cover (the
cover is only clicked in).
• Remove the insulation on the mains cable and the connection cable connected to
the consumer.
• Guide the cables through the openings in the ceiling-mounted motion detector (pre-
cut plastic parts may have to be removed carefully).
• Fasten the ceiling-mounted motion detector with two screws and plugs to the room
ceiling.
Caution!
Pay attention when drilling and tightening the screws that no cables or pipes
are damaged!
• Connect the mains cable and the cable to the consumer with the spring clips in the
ceiling-mounted motion detector.
L = Phase, brown cable
N = Neutral wire, blue cable
= Switched phase, to the consumer
The protective earth wire (PE, yellow-green cable) must be connected to
a different place since there is no suitable spring clip due to the size of the
ceiling-mounted motion detector.
The ceiling-mounted motion detector is designed according to Protection
Class II and does not require a protective earth wire.
• After setting the dials for the switch-on period ("TIME"), the sensitivity ("SENS")
and the brightness control ("LUX"), replace the cover removed at the beginning.
• Switch on the power. Afterwards, it takes about 60 seconds until the PIR sensor in
the ceiling-mounted motion detector has adjusted to the background temperature
and is able to recognise changes in temperature within the detection area.
During these 60 seconds, the connected consumer is switched on and then
off afterwards. This ceiling-mounted motion detector is now ready for use.
If a change in temperature is detected in the detection range, the consumer
is activated (depending on the setting of the dial, see next section) and a red
LED is illuminated in the sphere-shaped PIR sensor.
Settings on the ceiling-mounted motion detector
The ceiling-mounted motion detector has three dials:
Dial "TIME" (switch-on period)
Using this control dial, you can set the switch-on period for the output " ". Turning the
dial to the left shortens the switch-on period of the connected consumer; turning it to
the right lengthens it. Settings of 1 second (position "
1, 5, 10, 20 or 30 minutes are possible.
If a further motion is detected during the switch-on period, the switch-on
period starts again.
In the position "
", the output " " is activated for 1 second; a renewed
motion detection is possible only after the expiry of a pause time of 9 sec-
onds. This function can be used, for example, for switching on a staircase
lighting timer.
L
N
"), 3 or 15 seconds as well as
Dial "SENS" (sensitivity)
This dial is used to set the level of changes in temperature from which a switching
process is triggered.
On turning it to the left in counter-clockwise direction, the ceiling-mounted motion
detector will activate even for relatively small changes in temperature; turn it to the
right, and it will activate only for greater changes in temperature. With this function,
you can also control the range of the PIR sensor (e.g., a person who walks through
the monitoring area is recognised only at a closer proximity to the PIR sensor if the
sensitivity is reduced).
Dial "LUX" (brightness setting)
This control knob allows the switching threshold to be set, i.e. the ambient brightness
at which the ceiling-mounted motion detector is activated.
Turning the dial counter-clockwise to the left, in direction of the moon symbol, means
the ceiling-mounted motion detector activates when it is darker; turning it to the right,
in direction of the sun symbol, activates the motion detector in brighter conditions.
The position "TEST" is used to check the detection range (brightness de-
tection is deactivated, switch-on period of the relay in the ceiling-mounted
motion detector is approx. 3 seconds).
Cross the detection area. The ceiling-mounted motion detector activates the
connected load for a duration of approx. 3 seconds when it has detected a
temperature change inside the detection range.
Maintenance and Cleaning
The product is maintenance-free. Repair or maintenance work must be carried out
by a specialist.
You can use a clean, dry, soft cloth for cleaning. Dust can be very easily removed with
a soft, clean brush and a vacuum cleaner.
Do not use aggressive, chemical or scouring cleaning agents, as this may lead to dis-
colouration or changes in the material on the surface.
Disposal
The product must not be disposed of in the household waste.
Dispose of the product at the end of its serviceable life in accordance with
the current statutory requirements; e.g., return it to any suitable collection
point.
