In case the indication does not show „0.000", press the TARE key
(5). Immediately after switching it on, the Pocket Scale is ready for
operation. Nevertheless, a short warm-up phase of approx. 30
seconds might be helpful to stabilize the measuring values. Avoid
•
disturbing ambient conditions such as air drafts or vibrations as
these might involve unstable measuring values. Never put
permanent charges onto the weighing plate (1).
• Now, put the weighing material onto the weighing plate (1). Make sure the
weighing material does not touch the scale housing or the surface it stands
on.
• Read the weight of the weighing material after stabilization of the measuring
value („O" (9) is indicated on the LC display (2)).
Overload
• If the weighing material is heavier than the weighing range of the scale,
„ol_d" (overload) is indicated on the LC display (2).
In case of overload, immediately remove the weighing material
from the weighing plate (1). Please observe that overload might
involve damaging of the highly sensitive weighing unit. Such
damages are excluded from the guarantee.

TARE function

The TARE function is intended for weighing non-solid substances such as
liquids, powders etc. The TARE function balances the weight of the used
measuring container so that the LC display (2) shows only the net weight of the
substance to be measured.
• Put the empty measuring container onto the weighing plate (1) of the
switched-on Pocket Scale and wait until the indication is stable („O" (9) is
indicated).
• Press the TARE key (5). Despite the measuring container the weight
indication (12) indicates „0.000".
• Now, fill the weighing material into the measuring container. The weighing
indication (12) equals the net weight of the weighing material.
• If you would like to weigh substances without the measuring container,
remove it from the weighing plate (1) and press the TARE key (5).

Please observe that the weighing range of the Pocket Scale
including the measuring container is 10g. For this reason, it is
useful to use a measuring container with a low weight.
ADD-UP function
The Pocket Scale PS-10 is equipped with a so-called ADD-UP function. By
means of this function, you can sum the weight of several measurings. Thus,
you can e.g. obtain precise mixtures of up to 65g of different substances.
• Switch the scale on and put the first substance onto the weighing plate (1).
• After the weight indication (12) is stable, press the ADD-UP key (4).
• Remove the first substance from the weighing plate and put the second
substance onto the weighing plate.
• After the weight indication (12) is stable, press the ADD-UP key (4) again.
• Repeat these steps until you have weighed all desired substances.
• To read the total weight of the mixture, press and hold the ADD-UP key (4)
again (after having removed the last substance from the weighing plate).
Now, the total weight of the mixture (max. 65g) is indicated. If the total
weight exceeds 65g, „Lo_A" is indicated on the LC display.
• Switch the scale off and on again to delete the total weight.
Calibration (CAL)
In order to ensure maximum accuracy of the Pocket Scale as long as possible,
it has to be calibrated regularly, particularly after rapid temperature variations
or mechanical stress.
For calibration proceed as follows:
• Switch the scale off.
• Press and hold the TARE key (5) until the weight indication (12) indicates a
stable value.
• Press the TARE key (5) again and the display indicates „0.000".
• Now, put the optionally available calibrating weight of 5g into the middle of
the weighing plate (1).
