In the workplace, the accident prevention measures of the As-
sociation of Employer's Liability Insurance for electrical plant
and operating material must be observed.
In schools, training centers, hobby and self-help workshops,
the operation of measuring devices must be responsibly super-
vised by trained personnel.
Avoid operation in environments of high humidity (sauna or si-
milar) and dampness (do not splash or immerse).
Under unfavorable light conditions, such as in sunlight, it may
be difficult to read the digital display.
Do not operate the measuring device in rooms or under adver-
se ambient conditions in which combustible gases or dust may
be present. Do not operate in the immediate vicinity of
a) electrostatic fields (charging/discharging)
b) transmitting antennas
These can produce in errors in your measurements.
Deliberate mechanical (deformation) or electrical modifications
of the measuring device render all claims under the warranty
null and void.
If there are reasons for supposing that risk-free operation is no
longer possible, the device is to be taken out of operation and
safetied against accidental operation. Risk-free operation can
no longer be supposed, when
- the device is visibly damaged,
- the device no longer functions
- the device has been stored long-term under adverse conditi-
ons
- the device has been exposed to stress during transport.

Never switch on the device immediately on changing from cold
room to warm room conditions. The resulting condensation
may cause irreparable damage to the device. Allow the device
to acclimatize to room temperature while still disconnected.
Fitting/changing battery
To keep your device functioning perfectly, you must fit micro batte-
ries of type AAA. You are alerted that a battery change is needed
when the battery change symbol appears in the display top left.
This symbol is displayed when the battery voltage (under load) is
lower than approx. 2.6 V. This is how you change the battery:
Press lightly on the arrow marked on the battery compartment
cover, and then remove by sliding in the direction the arrow shows.
Remove the empty micro batteries you can now see from the bat-
tery compartment. Replace the consumed batteries by new ones of
the same type. It is better to use alkaline batteries (which last
longer!). Make sure to fit the new batteries so that the polarity
(+ and ) is correct. After changing the batteries, carefully reclose
the battery compartment.
Important!
Under no circumstances operate the measuring de-
vice while it is open. Never leave consumed batte-
ries in the device, since even batteries protected
against leakage can corrode and release chemicals
which are a health hazard and will fatally damage
the battery compartment. Used batteries must be
handled as hazardous waste and must be disposed
of in an environmentally acceptable manner. Collec-
tion bins are available at specialist distributors or
recycling centers.
