1 Safety notes

Designated use
Active barrier with standard power supply for safe separation of 4 to
20 mA signal circuits with an optional intrinsically safe input. The current
transmitted from the transmitter to the input circuit (4 to 20 mA) is
en
linearly transmitted to the output. The unit is constructed for mounting on
a DIN rail according to IEC 60715.
Seperate Ex documentation is contained in this operating manual, for mea-
surement systems in hazardous areas. The installation conditions and con-
nection values indicated in these instructions must be followed!
The manufacturer cannot be held responsible for damage caused by
misuse of the unit. Changes must not be made to the unit.
The unit has been designed for use in industrial areas and must only be
used in an installed condition.
The barrier is manufactured using state of the art technology and complies
to the IEC 61010-1 directives.
Mechanical and electrical installation, setting up and maintenance of the
unit must only be carried out by skilled and qualified personnel. The skil-
led personnel must have read and understood these installation and ope-
rating instructions. They must follow them carefully.
Always make sure that the unit is correctly connected following the elec-
trical connection diagrams. The housing must not be opened.
