operation. Only use handles and knobs for handling the appliance. Beware of hot
condensate and steam, when opening the lid.
Immediately switch off and unplug the appliance, if water leaks out of the kettle.
1. Prepare the power base for use. Completely unwind the power cord from the
cord storage and insert it in the gab on the bottom of the power base.
Place the power base on an appropriate surface (level, dry, water-resistant and heat-
resistant). During operation, always keep the appliance away from other objects:
leave at least 20 cm of free space on each side and 1 m of free space above the
appliance. Ensure, that the power base will not tilt or wobble.
2. Fill with pure drinking water. Press the opening button to open the lid. Fill with
the desired amount of water. Always fill the kettle between the minimum (500)
and maximum marks (1700/MAX) on the water gauge.
Too little water will result in the kettle switching off before the water has boiled.
Filling above the maximum mark on the water gauge of the kettle may result in
boiling water splashing from the kettle.
WARNING!
Do not overfill the water container beyond the maximum water level
mark 1700/MAX (1.7 litre). Otherwise boiling water could splash from the kettle
during operation, causing injuries to persons and damage. Only use clear water
without any ingredients. Dry spilled water immediately.
3. Ensure, that the lid is locked firmly into place and place the kettle onto the power
base.
The electric contacts of the multi-directional power base will slide into a correspon-
ding opening in the bottom of the kettle. The power base will work out in any ori-
entation.
Note:
Always keep the lid closed during operation. Otherwise power consumption incre-
ases significantly.
CAUTION!
Only with the lid closed, the kettle automatically switches off, once the
water has boiled.
4. Plug the power cord into a 230/240V power outlet and switch on. The power
on light and the water gauge will illuminate and the heating element starts hea-
