6. Troubleshooting

Problem
No sound.
Noise, crackling, unwanted signals.
Distortion.
Problem: Momentary loss of sound
(„dropouts") at some locations within
performance area.

Possible Cause

1. EasyPort is OFF.
2. VOLUME control on receiver is at zero.
3. VOLUME control on mixer of EasyPort
or Direct-Media is at zero.
4. Microphone or instrument is not
connected to bodypack transmitter.
5. Transmitter and receiver channels are
not identical.
6. Transmitter on/off switch is at „OFF"
or „MUTE".
7. Transmitter batteries are not inserted
properly.
8. Transmitter batteries are dead.
9. Transmitter is too far away from
receiver.
10. Obstructions between transmitter and
receiver.
11. Receiver is invisible from transmitter
location.
12. Receiver is too close to metal objects.
1. Interference from other wireless
systems, TV, radio, CB radios, or
defective electrical appliances or
installations.
1. (Bodypack transmitter only:) GAIN
control is set too high or too low.
2. Interference from other wireless
systems, TV, radio, CB radios, or
defective electrical appliances or
installations.
1. Antenna location.
2. Distance between Transmitter and
receiver (EasyPort) to long.
Remedy
1. Switch on EasyPort.
2. Turn up VOLUME control.
3. Turn up VOLUME control.
4. Connect microphone or instrument to
audio input on bodypack.
5. Adjust carrier frequency on transmitter
and receiver.
6. Set transmitter on/off switch to „ON".
7. Insert battereis conforming to „+" and
„-" marks.
8. Replace batteries.
9. Move closer to receiver.
10. Remove obstractions from between
transmitter and receiver.
11. Avoid spots where you cannot see
receiver.
12. Move receiver/EasyPort away from or
remove interfering objects.
1. Switch off interference sources or
defective appliances or tune to a
different frequency; have electrical
installation checked.
1. Turn GAIN control down or up just
enough to stop the distortion.
