Operation

a) Installation and connection
• The product is equipped with rubber feet. The rubber feet might leave traces on sensitive
surfaces. Protect such surfaces with a suitable padding, if needed.
• Switch off all devices to be connected before the cables are connected.
• Connect the HDMI outputs of your playback devices (e.g. DVD player, media box) to the input
sockets HDMI 1 through HDMI 6 (16-19, 1, 2).
• Connect the OUT A (21) and OUT B (20) output sockets to your output device (e.g. TV or
projector). The OUT A output socket is intended for ARC connection, when establishing a
separate audio connection to an amplifier using the optical Toslink socket SPDIF (22).
Use the ARC (Audio Return Channel) function to return the audio signal to the HDMI
matrix switch in order for the signal to be rendered via separate amplifier using a
Toslink cable. Only the optical SPDIF Toslink socket is able to output ARC signals.
The device to return the audio signal, e.g. a TV, must also support ARC.
• Connect an audio cable with 3.5 mm stereo jack plug to the audio output socket (23) in order
to render the audio signal of an HDMI source via headphones or active speakers. The audio
output socket can only render a 2.0 audio signal of an HDMI input. Simultaneous output via
optical Toslink socket SPDIF and audio output socket is supported if the HDMI input audio
source is having an LPCM 2.0 audio format.

• Connect the low voltage plug of the mains adapter to the DC 5V low voltage socket (15).
Connect the plug of the mains adapter to a suitable wall socket.
• After having connected all cables, turn on your devices.
Notes on EDID (Extended Display Identification Data):
The signal source and output device must both support EDID. Source and output
device must be set to automatic EDID recognition. Please note that some devices
require restarting in order to be able to detect EDID. Further information on EDID can
be found on the Internet.
b) Remote control
• Carefully pull the protective foil from the battery compartment (31) on the bottom of the
remote control. That will activate the operation of the remote control. Reinsert the foil into the
battery compartment when not using the remote control for a longer period of time.
• Use the remote control buttons for the following functions: Turn device on and off, select
HDMI inputs and outputs, select audio functions, or operate picture-in-picture (PIP) function.
• Always point the IR remote control transmitter (28) at the IR receiver (8). Objects located
between the transmitter and the receiver, such as furniture, can obstruct the signal
transmission. The range of the remote control accounts for a max. of 5 meters.
• The battery can last for up to one year. It depends on different factors, such as battery quality,
ambient conditions, and frequency of use.
• When the remote control signal starts to get weaker, e.g. when signals are transmitted
irregularly or not at all, the battery must be replaced. Open the battery compartment as
indicated on the back side of the remote control and replace the exhausted CR2025 3V
button cell by a new battery of equivalent type.
c) Use
Functions for operating this device are mainly carried out via remote control. All functions can
be operated via remote control. Not all the functions can be executed by the device itself.
• Switch on your HDMI playback devices and your output device (e.g. TV).
• Turn on the HDMI matrix switch using the
lamp (13) and the indicator lamps of the settings selected last (HDMI input, audio) light up.
• Set the desired HDMI input directly to output A (35) and output B (34) using the keypad 1-6.
With every time pressing the OUT A button (9) and OUT B button (10) on the device, you can
switch to the next HDMI input.
• Selecting the same HDMI input for both output A and B allows you to display the picture on
two output devices (e.g. monitor and projector) simultaneously.
• Use the PIP button (24) to turn on or off the picture-in-picture function. You can display up
to 5 additional pictures in the main picture. The additional pictures of the activated HDMI
sources are displayed on the left side of the monitor. Press the Select button (26) to switch to
the next additional picture. The selected picture will be moved slightly. Then press the Enter
button (36) to select the additional picture and to display it as main picture. Press the PIP
button again to exit the function and to display the main picture.
The picture-in-picture function only works with an HDMI input resolution of up to
1080p.
• Press the Audio button (12) to configure the audio settings. The LED indicator lamps
alternate as followed: Audio 2.0 (5) → Audio 5.1 (6) → Audio ADV (7). When selecting
Audio ADV, the signal receiver will determine the audio format. The 7.1-channel signal will
also be rendered during this setting.
• When using a separate amplifier for audio output and having connected a Toslink cable to the
optical Toslink socket, press the ARC button (29) to activate the ARC function. The ARC LED
indicator lamp (4, bottom) lights up.
• Press the A ↔ B button (32) to switch the sound from the HDMI source to HDMI output A or
B. The A-B LED indicator lamp (4, top) lights up, if HDMI output B has been connected. The
LED indicator lamp turns off, if HDMI output A has been connected.
• Press the
button to turn off the device after use. Unplug the mains adapter from the wall
socket when not using the device for a longer period of time.

Cleaning and care

• Disconnect the product from the mains supply before cleaning.
