TROUBLESHOOTING
If a fault occurs, first check the points listed below before taking the set for repair. Do not open the casing
as there is a risk of electric shock. If you are unable to remedy the problem by following these hints, call
service and support at the phone number shown below. Under no circumstances should you try to repair
the set yourself, as this will invalidate the warranty.
Problem
No sound/power.
Display does not function
properly/No reaction to
operation of any of the controls.
Poor cassette sound quality.
Recording does not work.
The CD skips tracks.
CD playback does not work.

Cause
Volume not adjusted.
Power cord not securely connected. Connect the AC cord properly.
Batteries used/incorrectly inserted. Insert new batteries correctly.
Electrostatic discharge.
Dust and dirt on the head.
Cassette tab(s) may be broken.
Cassette incorrectly inserted.
CD damaged or dirty.
Program is active.
CD badly scratched or dirty.
Laser lens steamed up.
Solution
Adjust the volume.
Switch off and unplug the set.
Reconnect after a few seconds.
Clean deck parts.
Apply a piece of adhesive tape
over the missing tab space
Replace or clean CD.
Quit program mode.
Replace or clean CD.
Wait until lens has adjusted to
room temperature.
