2. Tape Part
Measuring instruments/equipment: Frequency counter, AF-voltmeter, wow and flutter meter, e.g. Fe test cassette 449.
Function switch: Tape
Adjustment
1. Tape speed Connect the frequency counter to the headphone socket.
Insert e.g. test cassette 449, play 3150Hz.
2. Wow and flutter Connect the wow and flutter meter to the headphone
socket. Insert e.g. test cassette 449, play 3150Hz.
3. Head gap angle Connect the AF-voltmeter to the headphone socket.
(Azimuth) Insert e.g. test cassette 449,
play 8kHz.
4. Bias frequency Connect the frequency counter to connector CN301
Pin 3.
Insert a recordable cassette.
Function: Record-Start.
5. Bias level Connect the AF-voltmeter to connector CN301 Pin 3.
Insert a recordable cassette.
Function: Record-Start.

Measuring instruments/equipment: Oscilloscope, Test CD

1. RF Oscilloscope to TP1 and TP3 (VREF).
Play back the Test CD.
2. EF Balance Oscilloscope to TP2 and TP3 (VREF).
Play back the Test CD.

Adjustment Process
With adjustment control (in the cass.-motor) set the
frequency to 3150Hz
≤
Deviation 0.35% (aurally compensated). Playback
measuring time ≥ 30 seconds.
With the head adjustment screw 1 set the
left and right channel to maximum level.
The levels of the two channels must not
differ by more than 3dB.
Set the frequency to 60kHz

Adjustment Process
Adjust SFR1 m for Maximum.
Hold button T (F-Skip) depressed and adjust SFR2 m
so that the graph is symmetrical to the 0-line (Vref).
