5. Initial operation

5.1. Inserting batteries

CAUTION!
There may still be water on the battery compart-
ment cover after diving. Dry the camera after di-
ving and open the compartment cover, following
the steps carefully in the correct sequence..
Two AAA 1.5 V batteries are required to operate the camera.
 Switch the camera off, if applicable.
 Move the battery compartment catch in the direction shown
by the arrow.
 Hold the camera so that the battery compartment is facing
downwards, allowing any residual water to drip off.
 Slide the battery compartment in the direction of the arrow
and the cover will pop open.
 Use a dry cloth to wipe away any remaining water droplets
then you can turn the camera around as required.
