Inserting the battery pack
Removing: Press the battery pack release button
(2) and pull the battery pack (3) forwards.
Inserting: Slide in the battery pack (3) until it
engages.
6.2 Fitting and removing the saw blade
Remove the battery pack from the tool before
any adjustments, conversions, servicing or
cleaning are performed. Make sure that the tool is
switched off before fitting the battery pack.
Risk of injury due to the sharp saw blade. The
saw blade may still be hot after stopping work.
Wear protective gloves.
Use only sharp, undamaged saw blades. Do not
use saw blades that are cracked or that have
changed their shape.
Use only a saw blade that fulfil the
requirements and specifications listed in these
operating instructions. See Chapter 12. Technical
Data. See Chapter 9. Accessories for
recommended saw blades.
Use only bi-metal saw blades. Use a saw
blade geared towards the material to be sawn.

blades.
Removing the saw blade
1. Rotate the clamping lever (1) clockwise until it
goes no further. This releases the saw blade
tension.
2. Turn the tool over and use the Allen key (17) to
unscrew both saw blade protection plates (6)
and remove them.
3. CAUTION! When removing the saw blade, the
tension may be released causing the saw blade
to spring off. Risk of injury due to the sharp saw
blade! Wear protective gloves! Wear eye
goggles!
4. Pull the saw blade (14) slightly off the guide
rollers (12). Then pull the saw blade slightly off
both pulleys (19). Repeat the process of pulling
off the saw blade until it can be removed. The
gradual removal of the saw blade prevents it
bending.
Cleaning and checks
5. Remove any shavings. Wipe the rubber tyres
(20) (this extends the service life and prevents
the saw blade slipping).
6. Check the guide rollers (12). The saw blade can
cause smooth areas on the guide rollers,
blocked by shavings, which then have to be
replaced. See Chapter 10. Repairs
7. Check the rubber tyres (20) on the pulleys (19).
The rubber tyres (20) must be replaced if they
are loose or damaged. See Chapter 10. Repairs
Fitting the saw blade
1. Fit the saw blade so that the teeth are facing
upwards and sloping towards the parallel guide
(13). See page 3, Fig. C.
2. Using the thumb and finger on one hand, press
the saw blade together so that it takes on the
shape of the fitted saw blade.
3. Slide the saw blade half way between the guide
rollers (12) and the parallel guide (13).
4. Guide the saw blade round the pulleys (19) with
your other hand.
5. Use your other hand to slide the saw blade
downwards so that it rests fully on the pulleys
and sits right between the guide rollers (12).
6. Rotate the clamping lever (1) anti-clockwise until
it goes no further. This tensions the saw blade.
7. Tighten both saw blade protection plates (17)
with the Allen key (6).
8. Switch the tool on and off several times to
ensure that the saw blade is properly fitted.
7. Use
7.1 Switching on and off
Switching on: Press and hold the locking button
(8), then actuate the trigger switch (9).
Switching off: Release the trigger switch (9).
7.2 Working directions
Use a saw blade geared to the material to be
sawn.
Clamp the workpiece properly e.g. using
clamping fixtures. Under no circumstances
should you hold the workpiece with your hand or
foot.
Support heavy end pieces so that they cannot
fall down and cause injuries.
Hold the tool with both hands on the
designated handles, take a secure stance and
concentrate on the work.
Turn the tool off immediately if the saw blade
jams. Widen the sawn gap slightly with a
suitable tool and remove the tool.
- Press the tool with the parallel guide (13) against
the workpiece.
- The saw blade does not make contact with the
workpiece. Switch on the tool and leave it to run
for a few seconds.
- Only then guide the saw blade slowly and carefully
towards the workpiece.
- Avoid excessive pressure on the band saw blade
- the weight of the tool is sufficient.
- Do not bend or twist the band saw blade.
- Wait until the saw blade comes to a standstill
before you put down the tool. The saw blade may
jam, causing you to lose control of the tool.
Note:
Excessive force or bending reduces the service life
of the band saw blade.
Avoid the band saw blade coming into contact with
the workpiece quickly and forcefully. Otherwise the
band saw blade may be damaged.
Tension the workpiece slightly differently if
vibrations occur. Replace the saw blade if the
vibrations persist.
Check the alignment of the saw blade on a regular
basis. See Chapter 8. Maintenance.
