the coupling and repress the two ends against each other. When doing this, make sure you do not bend the
coupling.
Then place the raised vehicles back down on the rails. Now test by slightly pulling apart to see whether the
coupling hook H is correctly connected. If the two vehicles remain together, all contacts are correctly con-
nected with each other.

The locomotive and tender are fitted with spe-
cial couplings that transmit current and can, if
required – for example, for purposes of main-
tenance work on individual vehicles or to in-
stall a smoke generator – be uncoupled.
To do this please gently press the retaining
collar H (Pic 3a) downwards with a screw-
driver and pull the motor-free locomotive from
the tender.
Locomotive and tender are placed on the rails
a little distance from each other as in
Now carefully push the non-motor locomotive
up to the tender. The two coupling parts slide
in each other and the retaining clip
gages. At the same time connect all electrical
contacts to each other.
In order to establish a secure electrical contact
connection via the coupling (head light, smoke
generator) gently lift the locomotive and ten-
der as per Pic. 3b about 1 cm from the rails at
Pic 3a.
