Putting your model into operation
Carefully remove the locomotive in the blister pack from the box. Please open the blister pack as shown in the
example in Pic. 1a and 1b; remove the locomotive and put it on the rails. The DC model is suitable for a maxi-
mum voltage of 14 Volt; the AC model version can be operated analogue with maximum 16 volt or digitally. Al-
low the locomotive to run backwards and forwards at about half voltage for a few minutes. The vehicle is then
ready for use.

Detailing your model
The tender is provided with an extended corridor connection at the rear. This served on the original to improve
the aerodynamics with the first carriage, but not to reach from the train into the tender. A retracted corridor con-
nection is supplied to enable you to depict the model without a linkage to the rest of the train.
Negotiating curves
In order to enable the tightest of curve radii to be negotiated with ease – minimum radius
R 256 mm – the model has been fitted for running on your layout with open skirts (front and rear cladding).
Showcase or display model
Closed skirts are enclosed for showcase or display model use. The screw-fitted open skirts can be easily ex-
changed for the closed versions. The corresponding screw S2 can be seen in Pic. 2.
Looking after your model
In order to ensure that your model functions correctly over a prolonged period, your model should be main-
tained at regular intervals. The model need not be opened for minor maintenance work. Sufficient is to place
the model upside down on a soft surface as shown in Pic. 2 and to clean the wheel contacts using cotton buds
dipped in spirits. Then clean the wheels. Please do not turn the drive wheels of the tender by hand in any cir-
cumstances. After cleaning, use a drop of machine oil to lubricate the bearing points shown in Pic. 2. Use com-
mercially available oils and use a fine cannula or a needle. Caution: do not use cooking oil or hand cream.
