5. Rinse the measuring electrode with clean water. Then dry the exterior surface of the electrode.
6. Immerse the measuring electrode into buffer solution pH 4.01 (alternatively pH 10.01), and then calibrate the
device as described under step 3.
7. Once calibration has been completed, the display will show "%" and the PTS value ("percentage of slope" =
inclination) of the electrode. If the reading is below 70% or above 130%, the measuring electrode must be
replaced. 100% is the perfect value.
If calibrating the device fails, "Err" will appear in the LCD. In such a case, remove the measuring electrode
from the buffer solution and rinse the tip of the electrode thoroughly with clean and clear water. Wipe the
measuring electrode dry.
Then perform a new calibration. Make sure the tip of the measuring electrode is fully immersed in the
buffer solution.

calibration with the buffer solution of pH 4 (or alternatively with a buffer solution of pH 10, which is not
included in the delivery scope).
Buffer solutions other than those with a pH value of 4, 7 or 10 cannot be used for calibrating the device.
