Assembly
The radio wall clock is hung on the wall.
• There is a suspension eye on the back of the device for wall mounting.
• Secure the clock in place with a screw or a nail that protrudes a few millimetres from the wall.
Then hang the clock on it with the suspension eye.
To ensure correct DCF reception, the radio-controlled wall clock should not be placed
next to electronic devices, cables, metal parts, etc.
Inserting/replacing batteries/rechargeable batteries
• Open the battery compartment (4) at the back of the housing and insert two new type AA/
Mignon batteries, observing the correct polarity.
• The correct polarity is indicated in the battery compartment.
• Next, the radio wall clock attempts to receive the DCF signal (see chapter "DCF Reception").
• Close the battery compartment (4) again.
• It is necessary to replace the batteries when the contrast in the LC display fades or the clock
stops working.
Use of rechargeable batteries is possible. However, the lower operating voltage (re-
chargeable battery = 1.2 V, battery 1.5 V) and lower capacity will reduce the operating
time.
When no concrete indicator appears in the LC display or the clock can no longer be op-
erated, please press the RESET button (3) on the back of the case to activate the reset
function. In doing so, the internal processor is reset and returns to normal operation.
DCF reception
After inserting the batteries, the clock hands move to the reception position (at 12:00), and the
first search for the DCF signal begins. After the signal is successfully received, the clock hands
automatically move to the current time and the current date will be displayed in the LC-Display.
The detection and analysis of the DCF signal can take three to twelve minutes. Do not
move the radio wall clock during that time. Do not press any buttons or switches!
Poor DCF reception can occur, for example, due to metallised insulated glass, rein-
forced concrete buildings, coated special wallpapers, proximity to electronic devices
or in cellars.
If after 12 minutes, the pointers are not running on the current time or at the wrong time,
you can change the position of the radio clock and press the RESET button to reset the
clock.
The reception attempt for the daily automatic synchronisation with the DCF time is done several
times a day. One successful reception per day is sufficient to keep the deviation to less than one
second.
When the DCF signal is successfully received, the DCF symbol (5) appears permanently in the LC
display. Additionally, the summertime symbol (6) appears during summertime.
