^ WARNING
• If the information and recommendations contained herein are not adhered to, the protection afforded by the
earmuffs will be severely impaired.
• This hearing protector helps reduce exposure to hazardous noise and other loud sounds. Misuse or failure to
wear hearing protection at all times when exposed to hazardous noise may result in hearing loss or
injury. For proper use, see supervisor, user instructions, or contact 3M Technical Support.
• The output of the level dependent circuit of this hearing protector may exceed the external sound level.
• The output of the electrical audio circuit of this hearing protector may exceed the daily limit sound level.
• Earmuffs, and in particular cushions, may deteriorate with use and should be examined at frequent intervals for
cracking and leakage, for example. When used regularly, 3M recommends replacing the foam liners and
cushions at least twice a year to maintain consistent attenuation, hygiene, and comfort. If a cushion is
damaged, it should be replaced. The cushions and foam liners may deteriorate with use and should be
examined at regular intervals for cracking or other damage.
• Ensure the hearing protector is fitted, adjusted, regularly checked for serviceability, and maintained in
accordance with these user instructions. Improper fit of this device will reduce its effectiveness in
attenuating noise. Consult the enclosed instructions for proper fit.
• Hearing protectors must be worn at all times in noisy surroundings for proper protection.
• The fitting of hygiene covers to the cushions may affect the acoustic performance of the earmuffs.
• The noise reduction may be lower when eyeglasses, goggles or respirator straps are worn between the
sealing surface of the earmuff cushions and the sides of the wearer's head. For best noise reduction, select
eyeglasses or goggles that have thin, flat temples or straps which will minimize interference with the seal of the
earmuff cushions. Pull long hair back to the extent possible and remove other items that may degrade the
earmuff seal such as pencils, hats, jewelry or earbuds. Do not bend and reshape the headband as this will
cause a loose fit and allow sound leakage.
• The helmet mounted earmuffs are of large size range. Earmuffs complying with EN 352-3 are of medium size
range or small size range or large size range. Medium size range earmuffs will fit the majority of wearers.
Small size range or large size range earmuffs are designed to fit wearers for whom medium size range
earmuffs are not suitable.
