Fault
Even at low volumes
distortions are perceptible
There is no sound
Sound is thin and bright,
seems distant and unrealistic
The bass is too strong
There is a lack of brilliance
Cause
a) Defect in your electronics
b) Defect in speakers
a) Wiring is wrong
b) Amplifier off
a) Polarity error
b) Unfavourable set-up
a) Speaker placement is
unfavourable (e.g. in a corner)
b) The bass is greatly
increased on the amplifier
a) The tweeters are not
aligned
Corrective action
a) If the interference occurs
in both speakers, the fault
is in the electronics. If only
one speaker is affected,
switch the right-hand
speaker with the left. If the
fault remains in the same
channel, your electronics
are defective. If the fault
has switched to the other
channel, your speaker is
defective.

or vice versa.

to a wall, but retain a

your amplifier to a neutral
setting.

that the tweeters are
aligned directly to your
listening position (by tilting
and turning the speaker).
