AV receivers are usually equipped with a subwoofer preamp output. Connect this
to the LFE subwoofer input on your Saxx subwoofer.
For the necessary settings on your subwoofer, please refer to the user manual for
you active subwoofer!
Even if the nominal output of an amplifier is significantly less than the nominal
capacity of the connected speakers, the speakers may be damaged by improper
operation. The nominal output only signifies how many watts the amplifier can
deliver to the speakers at low distortion. If an amplifier is overloaded, it emits far
more power whilst also adding destructive direct current as well as high-frequency
vibrations. This process is called "clipping" and it makes its presence felt with
harsh distortions in loud passages. If distortions can be heard, the volume should
be reduced immediately so as not to risk damage to the speakers. Amplifier
clipping is a typical overload phenomenon that always occurs if the volume and /
or tone control is turned up too high. Even with the tone control at its mid position,
standard amplifiers reach their limits for loud impulses as soon as the volume
control clearly exceeds the 12 o'clock position.
