Symptom
AIBO continues to emit a
sad melody and does not
move when the pause
button is released.
The battery pack is locked
and cannot be replaced.
AIBO does not move
when you place it on the
Energy Station (not
supplied).
It takes a long time for
AIBO to start moving.
AIBO tries to walk but it
does not go forward.
AIBO falls often.

Cause/Remedy
The insertion of a "Memory Stick" without any
AIBO-ware.
The insertion of a "Memory Stick" that is not
intended for AIBO.
The AIBO-ware is operating. Press the pause
button to quit the programme.
The AIBO's internal application software does
not operate when you place it on the Energy
Station.
AIBO is loading the data from the "Memory
Stick." Wait for a while.
The floor may be slippery or the nap of the
carpet is long.
c Place AIBO on a surface that is not too
slippery, such as a carpet with a short nap.
The floor may be too slippery, inclined or
unstable.
c Place AIBO on a flat surface that is not too
slippery.
