4.4 Noise and motion detectors
1) Use the DIP switches on the lower side of the unit
according to fig. 3 for defining which detectors will
activate the camera or for adjusting continuous
operation of the camera.
2) If at least one of the detectors has been switched
on, adjust the tracking time with the control (8) be-
tween approx. 2 seconds and 5 minutes. The
tracking time is the time for which the camera will
remain switched on after the last movement or
noise detected.
3) If the noise detector (3) is switched on, adjust the
sensitivity with the control (6):
Control turned counter-clockwise to the left stop =
high sensitivity of approx. 65 dB, i. e. already a low
noise will activate the camera.
Control turned clockwise to the right stop = low
sensitivity of approx. 95 dB, i. e. only a loud noise
will activate the camera.
4.5 Activating the infrared LEDs
In case of unfavourable lighting conditions, the six IR
LEDs (1) can be switched on with DIP switch 4 on the
lower side of the unit (bottom of fig. 3). Thus, a suffi-
cient illumination of max. 8 m at a radiation angle of
approx. 30° is reached. However, a minimum dis-
tance of 50 cm from the object must be observed,
otherwise there will be no uniform illumination.
4.6 Power supply
For power supply, a regulated 12 V power supply unit
with an output current of minimum 350 mA is required,
e. g. MONACOR PS-362ST. As the camera only has
a very low current consumption (max. 1.5 mA) in
stand-by mode, a power supply independent of the
mains supply is also possible via a 12 V rechargeable
battery.
1) In case of a power supply unit with variable output
voltage, adjust it to 12 V.
2) Connect the power supply via a low voltage plug
5.5/2.5 mm (outside/inside diameter) to the inline
jack (9). Always observe the correct polarity: the
positive pole must be at the inner contact of the
plug.
3) After applying the operating voltage, the camera is
ready for operation.
4.7 Focus setting
Turn the lens (7) to adjust a clear picture on the moni-
tor.
4.8 Control channel
As long as the camera is switched on via one of the
detectors or operates in continuous mode, the control
channel emits a control signal. If the receiver is also
provided with a control channel, an acoustic or visual
signal device or another additional unit (e. g. a video
recorder for automatic start of a recording) can be
activated via this channel.
