6. General hints for installation and start of operation:

6.1 Microphone installation cables should not be run near by other cables like 100V-speaker lines,
mains cables, telephone or data lines.
6.2 In the same way 100V-speaker lines should not be run near by other sensitive lines like
microphone, telephone or data cables.
6.3 Microphones have to be wired only as low-impedance and balanced circuitry.
6.4 Total speaker impedance has to be measured before connecting speaker line(s) to an amplifier.
A special impedance measuring device has to be used such as ic-audio ZPM 4000 or ZPM 3100,
not a standard DC multimeter! Impedance may not be less than the rated value in the technical
specifications below. It is not damaging, if impedance is considerably higher than the rated value,
but amplifier power is then used only in part, so where applicable use an amplifier of lower power
class.
6.5 The devices are designed for being mounted into a 19-inch rack. Cooling is ensured by
temperature controlled fans. At AMP 120 and AMP 240 fresh air is drawn from holes in the bottom
and sides of the housing and will be blown out to the rear side, whereas fresh air is drawn through
slots in the front side at AMP 480. Please make sure, not to block circulation of air when mounting
the devices into a rack. If several units are mounted into a rack, ventilation rack-panels (1 unit
each) should be used between the devices. In the bottom or top cover additional fans have to be
located. Inside the rack temperature may never rise to more than 40°C.
