Estimating external impacts
If you adjust very high sensitivities in the individual settings, external interfering
signals can disturb the detecting. In such a case, repeat searching from different
directions and analyse only stable, continuously and recurring signals. Only
shortly appearing or instable signals are indicating interferences.
If the ground is strongly contaminated or electric lines are running in the ground,
which cannot be switched off, search only on small areas and search slowly to get
good signals. Also interferences from the object itself can skew the result:
Angular position of larger objects in the ground
Deep of the objects in the ground
More or less ferrous in the object
Size of the object
Strongly oxidised objects and objects that are already mixed with soil can
complicate the searching.
Hints for a successful search
Encircle the object with less pivoting movements in
order to exactly locate the object to be searched.
Mark the assumed founding location exactly.
Hold the coil exactly above the mark and move the coil
some times far from the body and back. Mark the point
of the strongest signal.
Turn yourself about 90° and repeat the searching in the
direction shifted about 90 degrees to the first search.
Mark also the point of the strongest signal. As a result
you will get an exact location above the detected
object.
