Earphone Connection

For using an earphone instead of the integrated speaker, connect the earphone
plug (3.5 mm-plug) into the headphone socket. By connecting the earphone the
internal speaker is shut off.
By using an earphone you can better differentiate the indication tones and you do
not disturb your environment. Caution: Before switching on the device and
attaching the earphone turn the knob VOLUME in direction MIN. So you avoid
high levels and possible hearing damages by switching on the device.
By operating the device increase the level slowly and in little steps. High levels
can cause hearing damages and it is also difficult to differentiate searching
results. Humans can differentiate little level differences better than at high levels.

Operation

The device can discriminate between ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
Ferrous are iron and steel
Non-ferrous metals are gold, silver, copper, aluminium, lead and zinc.
The device can also detect alloys of these metals.
The differentiation is displayed by lighting up the resp. LED FERROUS or NON-
FERROUS and by deflecting of the pointer. At the same time you can hear one of
three tones. The nearer the searching coil is to the object the higher is the tone
and the pointer deflects along.

Switching ON

Turn the knob MODE to VLF and check the battery status.
Turn the knob to TR1 for searching, indicating and differentiating
ferrous or non-ferrous metals or turn to TR2 for searching and
indicating metals of the same class, e. g. differentiating copper
and gold.
