5.4 Replacing the measuring insert
NOTICE
Property damage as a result of improper fitting of the O-ring onto the
measuring insert.
• Correctly install the O-ring as described (see below).
NOTE
For a smooth replacement of the measuring insert, comply with the following
measures:
• Measuring inserts must be replaced with measuring inserts bearing the
same metrology marking.
• Measuring inserts with EFM certification must be installed only in hous-
ings bearing the 'MID' marking on the topside of the flange.
• Thoroughly clean and disinfect the components prior to re-installation.
Preparation:
• Prior to replacing the measuring insert, dismantle (5.1) and
clean the basic body (5.2).
Execution:
1. Apply lubricant approved for potable water
2. to the O-ring and measuring insert.
3. Push O-ring seal onto the seat of the measuring in-
sert.
4. Check the correct installation position of the
measuring insert (direction of the arrow on the lid
flange and the housing must match.
5. Position measuring insert and install it in the housing
while applying slight pressure.
6. Tighten measuring insert bolts crosswise with a max-
imum torque of 20Nm.
7. Apply user seal to measuring insert bolt so as to
8. prevent tampering.
9. Functional test by applying a slight
airflow at the inlet of the basic body and
checking the display with respect to the light-off per-
formance.
The new measuring insert has been replaced correctly,
the meter is fully functional.
