14. Warranty
• The warranty period is 1 year.
• This period begins on the date of shipment given on the delivery note or invoice.
• The device will be repaired or replaced free of charge at the works during this period.
• Any and all further rights to make warranty claims, including any for consequential damages, are excluded.
• The device is only to be used to cool switch cabinets and similar equipment. The maker's warranty is invalid in the event of
improper use or wiring.
The cooling device is always carefully checked and adjusted at the works. Please return it to us in the unlikely event of
justified complaint.
• Shipping notes
• Pack the cooling device with all accessories in its original carton or the equivalent.
• Ship prepaid and with shipping insurance.
• Enclose proof of purchase (delivery note or invoice copy) and the most exact possible description of the defect/s in question
15. Water Quality Notes
• The VGB Cooling Water Guidelines (VGB-R 455P) must be complied with to ensure safe and reliable operation of air/water
heat exchangers.
• Cooling water may not cause any sedimentation, should be of low hardness (low carbon hardness in particular), especially
for recooling. However, it should not be so soft that it corrodes material/s used in the exchanger.
• When recycling cooling water the saline content due to evaporation of larger quantities of water must not be too high
(increasing concentrations of dissolved substances increase electrical conductivity, resulting in the water becoming more
corrosive).
• Constantly remove some enriched water and replace it with an equal amount of fresh water.
• Water containing gypsum is unsuitable for cooling, as it tends to cause scale deposits, which are very hard to remove.
• Cooling water should be iron- and manganese-free (deposits leading to piping blockage may otherwise result). Organic
substances (sludge and microbiological contaminants)should only be present in the water in very small amounts.
• Common contamination forms and remedies
Water contamination
Mechanical contamination
Excessive hardness
Moderate mechanical contaminant and hardness promoting
substance content
Moderate chemical contaminant content
Biological contamination - sludge bacteria, algae
• The characteristics of any additives or system water ought not to deviate greatly from the hydrological data given below.
