Select brightness
Using the slide switch (see chapter "Controls", Position 5), you can switch between brightness levels, de-
pending on the ambient brightness in front of the door (e.g. weak light in the hallway)
The peephole monitor requires a certain ambient brightness in order to display the camera
picture correctly.
Therefore, please always ensure that the lightning in the hallway in front of your door is working
properly.
Our tip:
As an additional security, it is desirable that the lightning in the hallway and in front your apart-
ment door can be switched on and off manually. Thus, no uninvited visitor can stand in front of
your door, without the lightning being switched on.
Activating the peephole monitor
• If you want to activate the peephole monitor (when a visitor is in front of your door and rings the doorbell),
press the Power key for one second until the picture appears on the monitor.
• By repeatedly pressing the Power key briefl y, you can switch between regular display and the zoom-mode.
• Use the slide switch on the side to select the desired brightness.
• When no keys have been pressed for a few seconds, the peephole monitor turns off automatically to save
power.
When a microSD or microSDHC memory card is inserted, a picture is saved every time you turn
the peephole monitor on, when you switch between the regular display and the zoom mode and
when you change the brightness setting of the peephole monitor.
Viewing stored pictures
• Switch on the peephole monitor, by pressing the "Power" button for one second.
• Press key "F", to activate the playback mode.
• Using the keys "F" and "S" you can now view the saved pictures.
• When no keys are pressed for a few seconds, the peephole monitor will switch to displaying the camera
picture.
Of course, the pictures can be viewed on a computer.
Please wait until the peephole monitor is turned off and remove the memory card.
Insert the memory card into an appropriate card reader. Using a suitable adapter, you can also
insert a microSD/microSDHC memory card into a regular SD/SDHC slot on a card reader.
Replacing the Battery
Because of the lower voltage provided by rechargeable batteries (battery = 1.5 V, rechargeable
battery = 1.2 V) and their lower capacity, the battery life is shorter. For this reason, we recom-
mend the product be only used with high-quality alkaline batteries to ensure a long and safe
operation.
You should replace the batteries, when you are no longer able to turn on the peephole monitor or when the
LED "Flat battery" blinks.
• First, remove the peephole monitor from the plastic retainer by rotating it counter-clockwise.
• Open the battery compartment on the rear and replace the fl at batteries by two type AA/Mignon new bat-
teries.
Please observe the correct polarity (pay attention to plus/+ and minus/-), see fi gure in the battery compart-
ment.
• Close the battery compartment.
• Install the peephole monitor on the plastic retainer and lock it by turning it to the right, clockwise.
Maintenance and Cleaning
The product is maintenance-free for you, you should never take it apart (except for installing and replacing
batteries as described in these operating instructions).
Use a clean, dry, soft cloth for cleaning. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents as these can cause discol-
ouration.
Do not press too strongly on the surface when cleaning, to prevent scratch marks.
Dust can easily be removed using a clean, long-haired brush and a vacuum cleaner.
Disposal
a) In general
Dispose of an unserviceable product in accordance with the relevant statutory regulations.
b) Disposal of used batteries/rechargeable batteries
As the end user, you are required by law (Battery Ordinance) to return all used batteries/rechargeable bat-
teries; disposal of them in the household waste is prohibited!
Contaminated batteries/rechargeable batteries are labelled with these symbols to indicate that
disposal in the domestic waste is forbidden. The symbols for the relevant heavy metals are:
Cd = Cadmium, Hg = Mercury, Pb = Lead.
You can dispose of your used batteries/rechargeable batteries free of charge at your community's collection
point or any place where batteries/rechargeable batteries are sold!
You thus fulfi l the legal requirements and make your contribution to protecting the environment!
