Installation and service

• Make sure that the relevant regulations for the
installation of electrical and water systems are
followed carefully when installing the RO 400
• The water purifier must be connected to an
earthed electrical supply. We recommend that a
plug-in connection is used since certain
procedures such as replacing filters, preparing the
appliance for storage and moving it if necessary
require the power supply to be disconnected.
• If the appliance is to be permanently wired to the
electrical supply, this work must be carried out by
a qualified electrician. Installation work which has
not been carried out properly can result in
personal injury and/or damage to property which
are not covered by any warranty.
The RO 400 for drinking water
The water produced by the RO 400 is excellent
drinking water. There is an installation package if the
water purifier is also going to be used for producing
drinking water, which includes a specially-adapted tap
for the RO 400, amongst other things. See
"Optional accessories and consumables". If the
RO 400 is going to be used in this way, the following
important instructions should be followed:
• Install any taps or such like directly after the water
purifier so that drinking water is produced when
the tap is opened, and is not kept or had any
additives added to it.
• If using materials other than those supplied for the
installation work, use only corrosion-resistant
materials.
SAFETY INFORMATION
• Any plumbing work required should be carried
out by a qualified plumber. If you do any of the
installation work yourself, you must check the
applicable regulations and comply with them.
• It is important that the water purifier should be
installed in an upright position.
• Check that no hoses or cables get jammed when
moving the water purifier, eg. during installation
or cleaning.
• The reverse osmosis technique very effectively
reduces most substances, which means that the
purified water from the RO 400 has very low
levels of those substances that normally protect
pipes, tanks, valves, etc. You should bare in mind
the risk of corrosion and leakage when choosing
materials for ancillary equipment which is to be
attached to the RO 400.
• The control panel should be clearly visible from
where the drinking water is drawn off.
• If the supply water is unsuitable you should have
the purified water checked after installation. You
should then have the purified water tested once a
year, or if there is any change in the water taste or
smell, in order to check that the water purifier is
still functioning properly. Do not drink the water
if the result is not satisfactory.
• Only drink the water if the control panel shows
"purification level II or III".
• Do not use the water from the appliance in
aluminium saucepans etc., on account of the risk
of corrosion, which would also cause increased
levels of aluminium in foods cooked in the
saucepan.
