YOUR NEW WATER PURIFIER

Unpacking

If the appliance has been damaged during
transportation, you should immediately notify the
company responsible for delivering it. Taking hold of
the rear hand-grip and the front edge of the RO 400,
carefully lift the appliance out. The appliance can be
damaged if it is lifted in any other way. Check the
water purifier for any signs of damage and check that
no accessories are missing. If you do discover any
damage, faults or missing parts, you should report this
to the supplier immediately. Never leave packaging
materials in a place where children may play with it.

Recycling materials

80% of the plastic and rubber components used in
this product and its packaging are identified by
symbols to assist the process of recycling and
disposal. The materials are marked according to
international standards. The cardboard parts of the
packaging are made from recycled paper and should
be deposited at a suitable recycling point.
Water
"Pure water" is water without any harmful, unhealthy
or undesired amounts of organic or inorganic
substances. Water purification means separating out
these particles and substances. In regular purification
certain substances are separated from the water. Reverse
osmosis is a super-filtering process in which even the
smallest particles and amounts of substances can be
separated off. The technique means that the non-
purified water is split into two streams, the purified
water and a concentrate containing the impurities.
Osmosis - reverse osmosis
In the natural world, for example in our bodies,
water is transported by means of osmosis. The cell
walls are a natural osmotic membrane which separate
impurities from pure water. In the reverse osmosis
water purification technique the water is forced
under high pressure through a semi-permeable
membrane. This results in the pure water, the
osmosis water, being separated off from its
impurities. The synthetic membrane is only
permeable to water. Other substances made up of
molecules just a little larger than water molecules can
not penetrate the membrane, but are separated off.
One major advantage with reverse osmosis is that no
chemicals are used or added to the water in the
purification process.
