Connecting the pool thermometer with your smartphone/tablet
Both devices must be connected with each other for the pool thermometer to work with the app
("pairing" - or connection process in Bluetooth
Proceed as follows:
• Make sure that the Bluetooth function is activated on your smartphone/tablet.

• Start the app "RPT".
• Upon first use, the app will search for the pool thermometer.
Press and hold the "CONNECT" button (6) for 2 seconds. Subsequently, the red LED (2) will be
illuminated for 2 seconds and will then flash if the Bluetooth
• The app displays the name of the pool thermometer, e.g. "sensor_AA41A7" (the order of digits
corresponds to a serial number and is different for each pool thermometer).
Confirm the connections by pressing the "OK" button in the app.
Connection must be done correctly; otherwise, the pool thermometer cannot be used.
The connection process must be done with the app and not in the Bluetooth
of the smartphone/tablet.
The pool thermometer can be connected to several smartphones/tablets.
• Afterwards, the app displays the measured temperature as well as time and date of the last
measurement.
Positioning e.g. in a swimming pool/pond
To make sure that the pool thermometer does not float away and will not be easily accessible,
you should use the eyelet (9) and attach the thermometer at the edge of the swimming pool/pond
using a string.
Position the thermometer e.g. in a swimming pool so that neither the pool thermometer
nor the string can cause a hazard for people.
Reset
To reset the pool thermometer and delete the internally saved connection list, press and hold the
"RESET" button (7) for 2 seconds.
Afterwards, you must perform the connection procedure as described in the chapter "Getting
started".
Using the app
Newer versions of the app may change the operation of the app described below.
Displaying the current measurement value and the maximum/minimum values
• After starting the app, the current temperature ("CURRENT TEMPERATURE") as well as the time
and date of the last measurement will be displayed.
• Slide the display window all the way to the right and the today's maximum/minimum values will
be shown. These data are reset automatically each day at 0:00 midnight.
• Slide the display window all the way to the left and the maximum/minimum values since the last
reset or initial start-up will be displayed.
To reset these maximum/minimum values, tap on the gear wheel symbol at the bottom left in the
app. Then, tap the "CLEAR" button.
Changing the background picture of the app
• Tap the gear wheel symbol at the bottom left in the app. Then, tap the background picture at the
top left.
Afterwards, you can select pre-defined background pictures, load your own pictures or take a
photograph.
Selecting the temperature unit °C/°F
• Tap the gear wheel symbol at the bottom left in the app.
• Use the slide switch to toggle between °C (degrees Celsius) or °F (degrees Fahrenheit).
Setting the temperature alarm
• Tap the gear wheel symbol at the bottom left in the app.
• You can select the lower limit value with "MINIMUM" and the upper limit value with "MAXI-
MUM" at the bottom of the display.
Switching the temperature alarm on/off
• Tap the gear wheel symbol at the bottom left in the app.
• The temperature alarm can be switched on or off with the slide switch "ALERT".
If the temperature alarm is switched on, the app will display a corresponding notifica-
tion and sound a signal when the upper limit value (MAXIMUM") is exceeded or the
lower limit value ("MINIMUIM") is underrun.
Displaying the battery status
If the batteries in the pool thermometers are low or empty, a corresponding notification will appear
in the app. Replace the used/empty batteries for new ones.
A new connection process may be necessary so that the app can display the temperature.

Troubleshooting help
Pool thermometer not found by the app
• Check the batteries of the pool thermometer and replace them for new ones, if necessary.
• Check that the rechargeable batteries are inserted correctly (observe plus/+ and minus/-).
• Start the settings function of the smartphone/tablet and switch the Bluetooth

Cannot find the app "RPT" in the AppStore/PlayStore
• If you are using an iPad, you may switch to the AppStore to display the iPhone apps in the
search mode (top left display "iPhone only" instead of "iPad only").
Otherwise, the app is not shown (however, the app also works with an iPad).
• For smartphones with androids you need at least Android 4.3 so that the App can be shown in
the PlayStore and downloaded.
Maintenance and Cleaning
• The product is maintenance-free for you; you should not dismantle it (except for inserting/re-
placing the batteries or rechargeable batteries as described in these operating instructions and
using the buttons).
• The outside of the product should be cleaned only with a clean, soft cloth.
Do not use aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solutions for this could damage the
housing (discolouring) or impair the operation.
Disposal
a) General
The product must not be disposed of in the household waste.
Please dispose of the product,when it is no longer in use, according to the current
statutory requirements.
Remove any inserted battery/rechargeable battery and dispose of it separately from
the product.
b) Batteries and Rechargeable Batteries
As the end user, you are required by law (Battery Ordinance) to return all used batteries/recharge-
able batteries; disposal of them in the household waste is prohibited.
Batteries/rechargeable batteries containing hazardous substances are labelled with
this symbol to indicate that disposal in domestic waste is prohibited. The designations
for the heavy metals involved are: Cd = Cadmium, Hg = Mercury, Pb = Lead.
Used batteries, rechargeable batteries as well as coin cells can be returned to collection points
in your municipality, our stores or wherever batteries/rechargeable batteries/coin cells are sold.
You thereby fulfil your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment.
