Contact Grill / Table Grill Conversion

• To use the device as a contact grill, simply fold up the upper housing as far as it will go and
then fold it down again after you have placed food on it.
• If you want to use the device as a table grill:

Before Initial Use

CAUTION!
❐ Keep children and animals away from the packaging material. There is a danger of suffoca-
tion!
1. Unpack the device and check the items supplied for completeness (see the "Items Supplied
and Device Overview" chapter) and possible transport damage. If you fi nd transport dam-
age, do not use the device (!), but contact the customer service department immediately.
2. Peel off any stickers and fi lms from the device.
3. There may still be some production residues on the device. To avoid harmful effects to
your health, clean it thoroughly before you fi rst use it (see the "Cleaning and Storage"
chapter).
4. Place the device on a dry and heat-resistant, fl at surface a suffi cient distance away from
fl ammable objects (at least 10 cm to the sides, 60 cm above it). Please make sure that chil-
dren cannot access the device and that the cable does not touch the grill plates when the
device is in operation.
5. Unwind the mains cable and insert the plug into a properly installed and earthed 220 –
240 V mains socket with earthing contacts. Your grill is now ready for operation.
6. You should perform the initial start-up without any food since smells or smoke may de-
velop due to coating residues that may still be present. Allow the device to heat up for ap-
prox. 10 minutes at 220°C (see the "Use" chapter). During this time, make sure the room
is well ventilated, e.g. with wide-open windows!

1. Fold up the upper housing.
2. Hold the handle (1) fi rmly with one hand and use your other
hand to press the release button (4). The locking mechanism
will be released.
3. Carefully place down the upper housing.
4. When you fold the upper housing back up again, the locking
mechanism will engage.
