Danger of Fire

❐ Do not use the device if highly fl ammable gases are present in the air.
❐ The device should never be set up or used in the vicinity of highly fl ammable materials
(curtains, textiles etc.).
❐ The device is very hot during operation and afterwards! When setting up the device, en-
sure that you select a location with enough clearance all around the device (at least 10 cm
to the sides, 60 cm above it).
❐ In the event of a fi re:
– It is essential to remove the mains plug immediately.
– Cover the device with a fi reproof blanket or wet cloths. Do NOT use any water as the
steam can present an additional danger of scalding.
– Dispose of the device.

For Your Health

❐ There may still be some production residues on the device. To avoid harmful effects to
your health, clean the grill plates thoroughly before using them for the fi rst time (see the
"Cleaning and Storage" chapter). Also clean the grill plates after every use to prevent the
formation of germs.
❐ Do not use spoilt food. Never keep food longer than the best-before date.

Correct Set-Up and Connection

❐ Always place the device on a dry, level, fi rm and heat-resistant surface and at a suffi cient
distance from fl ammable objects. If necessary, place a heat-resistant surface below the
device.
❐ Do not place the device directly beneath a wall-mounted cupboard or shelf. Make sure that
there is plenty of free space around the device to avoid any build-up of heat.
❐ Maintain suffi cient clearance from other sources of heat such as hotplates or stoves in
order to avoid damage to the device.
❐ In order to avoid electric shocks, do not use the device in rooms with high humidity or
near to water or other liquids.
❐ The device should only be connected to a properly installed socket with earthing contacts.
The socket must also be readily accessible after connection. The mains voltage must match
the technical data for the device (see the "Technical Data" chapter). Only use suitable ex-
tension cables whose technical data is the same as that of the device.
❐ Ensure that it is not possible for others to trip over the connected mains cable. Do not
allow the cable to hang over the edge of tables or kitchen counters. Others may become
caught and pull the device down.
❐ Position the cable in such a way that it does not become squashed or bent and does not
come into contact with hot surfaces.
❐ Do not pull or carry the device by the cable.
