5.9 Removing the 5-point safety harness and upholstery
from the seat frame
To remove the upholstery from the seat frame:
The canopy and safety front brace have been removed from the
seat.
1. Open the zip at the top of the seat, so that the seat frame
shows.
2. Detach the two press studs at the top of the upholstery
from the seat frame (see fig. 38).
3. Open all the press studs and zips on both sides of the
upholstery.
4. T hread the strap that surrounds the sides of the seat
frame through the metal buckle (see fig. 39) and pull it
through the slit and loop on the upholstery.
Tip: Put the back rest in lying mode to facilitate detaching
the metal buckle.
5. Squeeze the two fasteners at the bottom of the seat so
they come away from the seat frame (see fig. 42a).
6. Squeeze the leg rest release and detach the leg rest
frame from the seat frame (see fig. 48).
7. Push the protruding part at the bottom of the leg rest
through the upholstery and remove the leg rest frame
from the upholstery (see fig. 42c).
To remove the 5-point safety harness:
1. Open the crotch strap cover upholstery.
2. U nlock the central harness lock on both sides (see fig. 15).
3. Detach the shoulder straps from the hip straps (see fig. 40).
4. Guide the crotch strap at the bottom of the upholstery
through the metal buckle (see fig. 42d) and pull the
crotch strap through the slit in the seat, away from the
upholstery.
5. Remove the strap clip from the hip strap on one (!) side
(see fig. 41).
6. Now pull the hip strap out of the D rings.
7. Push the D rings through the upholstery so that they are
no longer visible.
To remove the reinforcement plates:
1. Open the Velcro at the top of the upholstery and remove
the back rest reinforcement plate and the straps (see fig. 43).
2. Remove the shoulder straps and belts with the D rings
from the back rest reinforcement plate.
3. Push the two fasteners at the bottom of the seat through
the openings in the upholstery so that they are no longer
visible.

4. Open the Velcro at the bottom of the upholstery and
remove the bottom reinforcement plate (see fig. 44).
The upholstery and the 5-point safety harness can now be
washed.
5.10 Installing the 5-point safety harness and upholstery
on the seat frame
Install the shoulder straps and belts with the D rings in the
back rest reinforcement plate:
1. Guide the shoulder straps underneath the back rest
adjustment strap (see fig. 43).
2. Push the shoulder straps on the side of the back rest
adjuster through the openings in the back rest
reinforcement plate at equal heights.
Attention: Check that the shoulder straps have not been
twisted.
3. Push the D rings through the back rest reinforcement
plate at the bottom.
To install the reinforcement plates:
1. Open the Velcro at the bottom of the upholstery.
2. Slide the bottom reinforcement plate with the fasteners
on the side of the slits into the upholstery (see fig. 44).
3. Check that the plastic fasteners protrude from the
designated openings in the upholstery (see fig. 42).
4. Close the Velcro.
5. Open the Velcro at the top of the upholstery and slide the
reinforcement plate with the back rest adjuster into the
opening at the back (top side) (see fig. 43).
6. Pull the D rings for the hip straps through the slits in the
seat at the front (bottom side) (see fig. 45).
7. Guide the shoulder straps through the slits in the
upholstery at the front (top side).
Attention: The shoulder straps must come out of the
back rest at the same height.
8. Check that the back rest adjuster protrudes from the
designated opening.
9. Guide the straps with the metal buckles through the
vertical slits at the back (top side) of the upholstery (see
fig. 46).
10. Close the Velcro at the top of the back rest.
To attach the upholstery to the seat frame:
1. Put the seat frame down on the ground in front of you
with the mounting points for the front brace facing up
(see fig. 47).
