Cleaning and Storage

CAUTION!
■ Always pull out the mains plug and allow the device to cool down before cleaning it.
■ The device and accessories are not suitable for dishwasher use!
■ Never immerse the grill plate, the thermostat, the mains cable or the mains plug in
water or other liquids. There is the risk of an electric shock.
■ Do not use any corrosive or abrasive cleaning agents, rough sponges or knives to
clean the device. These could damage the surfaces.
■ Never wind the mains cable tightly around the thermostat for storage.
1. Take the cooled device apart (see "Assembly"). Empty the drip tray (4).
2. Clean the grill plate (10) with a wet cloth and a little mild detergent. Make sure that no
water gets into the thermostat socket (3)!
3. If necessary, wipe down the thermostat (7) with a soft, damp cloth.
4. Clean the glass lid (1), the drip tray (4) and the frame (9) with warm water and a little
detergent.
5. Dry all parts thoroughly before they are reassembled and stored away.
6. Store the device in a dry place that is protected from sunlight and is not accessible
to children and animals.

Troubleshooting

If the device does not work properly, fi rst check whether you are able to rectify the prob-
lem yourself.
Do not attempt to repair a defective electrical device yourself!

Possible cause / solution
• Is the thermostat (7) connected to the thermostat socket (3)
correctly?
• Is the mains plug (8) inserted in the plug socket correctly?
• Is the plug socket defective? Try another socket.
• Check the fuse of the mains connection.
• When the device is fi rst used: Any production residues that
may remain may result in a small amount of odour or smoke
development. This is normal. Heat up the device for approx.
5 – 10 minutes (see "Use"). Make sure the room is well venti-
lated, e.g. with wide-open windows!
• The device has already been used: Is the device dirty? Fol-
low the instructions in "Cleaning and Storage".
