Adjusting the length of the suction pipe (Fig 1.)

When adjusting the length of the suction pipe, ensure the pump unit does not touch the bottom
of the water collection unit. This helps keep dirt collected inside the water collection unit away
from the filter.
The suction pipe can be extended.
▪
Turn the upper assembly nut (12) counter-clockwise to release the suction pipe.
▪
Adjust the length of the suction pipe according to the size of your water collection unit by
pulling down or pushing upwards.
▪
If necessary, lightly pull or push the control unit when adjusting the length of the suction
pipe.
▪
Once the length of the suction pipe has been adjusted, turn the lock nut clockwise to
secure the suction pipe.
▪
Secure the power cable with cable clamp (15) at the back of the control unit before
operation.
7.4

Connecting the discharge hose (Fig 2)

Connect the male garden hose coupling (7) and the valve (6) to the female garden hose
coupling (5) of the discharge hose.
Suspend the pump unit with the suction pipe into the water container.
Connect a hose (not included) to the quick connection of the valve.

8 OPERATING

8.1

Installing the pump

Suspend the pump unit with the suction pipe into the water container/ to pump off.
▪
Make sure that the pump cannot move during the operation.
▪
Pay attention to the maximum submersion depth.
▪
Always make sure that the suction opening (8) is not blocked or obstructed during the
operation. If necessary, place the pump on a brick or similar.
▪
Run the irrigation hose for watering the plants. Observe maximum delivery height.
▪
Open the valve (6).
▪
Insert the battery (4) into the battery compartment.
8.2

Switching on/off (Fig. 3)

Warning: Avoid dry running of the pump. Dry running is operating the pump without water
in the casing.
To switch the rain barrel pump on, push the ON/OFF switch (2) in direction "I".
To switch off the pump push the switch (2) in direction "O".

When not in use, remove the battery from the battery compartment. Depress the release
button on the battery and pull out the battery from the compartment.
▪
Make sure that water and moisture cannot get into the control unit.
▪
Make sure that no particles bigger than approx. 1 mm are sucked into the pump.
▪
Never pull the rain barrel pump by the cord.
This appliance cannot be used by children or people who are physically,
mentally or developmentally impaired, or people who lack experience or
knowledge, except in case these people receive instruction from a person
responsible for their safety, a supervisor, or by studying the preceding
instructions concerning use of this appliance.

9 CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Attention! Before performing any work on the equipment, remove the
battery.
