Gebrauchsanleitung / Operation Manual MINISPENSOR
Cleaning and maintenance
As you can see on the sectional drawing , MINISPENSOR can be disassembled in seconds. Therefore the
dispenser is optimal to clean and, if necessary, easy to change spare parts.
To ensure a proper performance and a long life-span, the dispenser should be cleaned in the following cases:
When changing reagents
Before storing it over a long period of time
Daily after you have dispensed:
Substances which form crystals
Alkaline solutions
Organic solutions
anorganic oxidizable solutions ( fe. Biuret-reagent).
Preparation for ceaning (Disassembly)
1. Place the complete dispenser (with bottle) in a sink.
2. Unscrew the apparatus from the bottle so that the suction tube will not be immersed in the liquid.
3. Tap the tube carefully against the inner side of the bottle. This allows the remaining reagent to disperse.
4. Remove dispenser from the bottle and rinse with destilled water.
5. It is now possible to disassemble the dispenser. Please refer to para „Dissasemble"
Warning: Avoid personal injury from chemicals. The instruments, suction and ejection tube may contain reagent.
Always face them away from your body. Wear eye protection and protective clothing!
Prevention of clogs of valves during prolonged intervals
When the dispenser is screwed onto the bottle make sure that the valves are surrounded and covered by liquid.
Once unscrewed you can maintain an easy running of the valves, if you rinse it with destilled water and/or
laboratory cleaner. Finally draw alcohol through the dispenser.
From time to time in order to ensure the apparatus meets i ts accuracy, check-ups can be done with (2x)-destilled
water on a semi-micro scales. Allow temperature dependance (1 ml water 20° C = 0,998 g)!
Sterilization:
After removal of the suction tube and ejection canula the dispenser can be steam-sterilized at 121 °C and
maximum 2 bar. Place the instrument in an upright position on a towel. Avoid any contact with hot metal surfaces.
Caution:
Slowly cool down the apparatus. It can then be used again after reaching room temperature. Inspect all parts and
tubing fro leakage after every sterilization. In case of deformation return the Minispensor.
It is also possible to sterilize the dispenser chemically with alcohol, formaldehyd etc.
