Installation
The camera should not be pointed directly towards bright sources of light or
the sun, since this will overexpose the image.
For outdoor use, we recommend that you choose a location that is protected
from rain/sprayed water (e.g. under the eaves) to prevent the formation of
droplets or accumulation of sprayed water on the camera's front panel that
will cause a distorted and unusable image.
• The wall bracket and threads at the top and bottom of the camera make installation
on a wall or ceiling possible.
• Depending on the mounting location, use appropriate screws and, where neces-
sary, wall plugs to attach the bracket.
Make sure when screwing into place or when drilling holes that cables or wires are
not damaged.
• Install the cable in a suitable place.
Use e.g. suitable cable ties to fix the cable. Alternatively, the cable can also
be placed in a cable channel or similar. This will also serve as protection
against acts of sabotage.
We recommend not placing the cable directly next to power cables, if pos-
sible, as this may affect the video image.
Protect the cable from sharp edges and do not bend it.
If the plug of the cables is to be put, for example, through a hole in a wall,
protect the plug from dust and dirt using, for example, with a small plastic
bag.
Connection
The camera has an RJ11 plug at the end of the cable. This is used to connect suitable
devices (e.g. a digital video recorder, DVR) with a corresponding RJ11 socket.
The power supply of the camera as well as the transmission of the video
signal from the camera to the DVR is done via this RJ11 connection.
For this reason, a separate power adapter is not necessary for the camera.
Insert the RJ11 plug into the corresponding socket of the DVR so that the clip on the
RJ11 plug clicks into place inside the RJ11 socket of the DVR.
Set the correct input channel to display the camera image.
Afterwards, adjust the camera again if needed, in order to be able to monitor the
desired area.
In the dark, the IR LEDs of the camera are activated automatically. However,
the LEDs are not visible to the human eye. Please bear in mind that at night,
coloured image reproduction changes into a black and white monochrome
representation as a matter of principle.
Cleaning
Occasionally, clean the camera from dust and dirt, especially the front screen. To that
effect, use a clean, soft, dry cloth. Do not rub too hard, since otherwise scratch marks
will occur on the glass; this will cause deterioration in the image quality!
Never direct a stream of water from a garden hose or a high-pressure cleaner, or
similar, onto the camera.
Do not use any aggressive detergent, as this might cause discolouration.
