The RX+S is configured to reduce unwanted triggers by small animals.
Setting it up at a lower height than advised increases the chances of
small animals triggering the system. Set up above the recommended
height can reduce the ability of the RX+S to detect movement from
larger animals and humans.
To maximise the ability of the unit to detect motion it should be set
up so that a person has to walk past the unit, as shown in Fig. 2. The
closer the subject is to the RX+S, the quicker the unit will react. The
RX+S will detect motion most effectively up to 5m away (conditions
dependent).
Fig. 2
Foliage and obstructions in front of the RX+S will reduce the ability of
the unit to detect motion and potentially increase false triggers. The
clearer the line of sight, the more effective the RX+S will be.
The lower sensitivity setting is designed to cover most normal situations.
The higher setting is provided to offer faster, more sensitive detection
should the ambient ground temperature rise or the location of the RX+S
is compromised by external factors.
Conversely, if the RX+S is being triggered too easily, even in the lower
sensitivity setting, the location of the unit should be reconsidered.
Radio Compatibility (Ultra-Long Range™)
The RX+S contains an advanced transmitter device, capable of long
distances.
WORKS EXCLUSIVELY WITH THE RX+ FAMILY OF PRODUCTS AND IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH
EXISTING NON RX+ FOX RECEIVERS OR EXTENSION BOXES.
Low Battery Warning
When the RX+S batteries are low the radio performance of the unit will
be reduced. To indicate low batteries the central (cyan) LED will be
illuminated, when the other indicator LEDs are on and will flash
periodically when the other LEDs are extinguished.
