7. Operating Instructions

Please take the time to carefully read
through this Owner's Manual to ensure that
you are familiar with all of the functions of
your Ex-TP 20 and know how to use all of
the functions. For you own safety and infor-
mation please read through the information
on the following pages.

7.1 Switching On/Off

Press the On/Off Max button once. After a
display test the device will display the cur-
rent temperature at the measuring probe.
Press the button longer to switch the device
off. The Auto Off function automatically
switches off the device after 5 minutes.
Never perform any measurements with
the device switched off, as this could
cause the device to be overloaded.

7.2 Performing measurements

The following points must be observed
while performing measurements:
• The measuring probe should be positioned as clo-
sely as possible to a perpendicular position.
• After checking that the surface to be measured
does not carry a voltage, place down the measu-
ring probe onto the surface to be measured.

7.3 Maximum value display

The maximum value of the current measu-
rement can be displayed by briefly pres-
sing the button again. This status is indica-
ted with one of the fields on the display.
Briefly pressing the button again changes
the display back to the current temperature
at the measuring probe.
