Intended Use/Purpose
Lite-Touch Biomechanical Hands are essentially ADEPT terminal devices, with an
anthropomorphic exterior available in four pediatric models and one light-duty adult
model in both right and left versions and three colors. The unique, patented, design
that simulates a complete hand but with the "ring and pinky" fingers folded against the
palm allow the LITE-TOUCH to be operated very naturally for reaching and grasping
increasing "visual feedback" for enhanced grasping potential over smaller objects,
without sacrificing gripping or compromising object control. LITE-TOUCH mount easily
to any USA standard prosthetic wrist. LITE-TOUCH have applications for both trans-
radial and trans-humeral applications .
The device is intended for single user/patient use only.

Performance Characteristics

The mechanics, ease of use and high efficiency operation are all equivalent to the
ADEPTS, but LITE-TOUCH are better for managing cylindrical objects like handlebars,
while ADEPTS function better in fine tip grasping tasks. LITE-Touch provide all the other
benefits of VC devices outlined above in the GRIP and ADEPT Prehensor section.
