2.6 Cooling

It is ensured by an external fan which blows air in the motor.
To this end, AXEM Motors type MC 19-23-24-27 have two holes for cooling closed by seals, grilling
and plate for replacement by nozzles.

2.7 Dismounting

The motors and tacho-generators cannot be dismounted without causing demagnetization of the stator
magnets, this demagnetization reaching 30 percent. It is then necessary to remagnetize the magnets
in workshop.
Dismount the rear cover of the tacho-generator as follows to gain access to the motor brushes :
- loosen and remove the four attachment screws of the tacho-generator stator to the motor,
- remove the tacho-generator.

2.8 Maintenance

2.8.1 Bearings
Are lubricated for life, they do not require any maintenance.
2.8.2 Brushes
The brush wear depends on the operating conditions and increases with the average value of the
speed in cycle-duty.
To check brushes wear, dismount them as follows
- remove the connections if required,
- unscrew and remove the brush-holder caps,
- withdraw the brushes from their sleeve. The brushes are fully worn out once the residual brush
length is smaller than 7mm,
- re-install the brushes according to their initial position,
- replace them with new brushes of the same grade once their wear limit bas been reached and
perform slow-speed run-in (at about 1 500 rpm for 2 to 3 hours)

2.9 Spares

To avoid losing time, each spare parts order must include the indications stated on the motor
nameplate, especially the motor type and identification number.
PARVEX is relieved from any and all responsibilities if the motors or tacho-generators are operated
beyond the characteristics limits indicated on the nameplates, data sheets and catalogues.
