Connecting a 12 volt battery (optional)
A 12 volt battery connection cable can be purchased from your local Speedrite stockist. Instructions for connecting a 12 volt battery to an energizer are
supplied with the connecting cable.
Connecting to an electric fence
1.
Position the energizer on firm ground away from flooding and out of reach of animals and children. If possible, position the energizer in a sheltered area
to protect it from the weather and improve visibility of the indicators.

Push the earth peg fully into firm ground. If the ground is dry or sandy, performance can be improved by using a longer (1 m) earth stake that can be
obtained from your fencing supplier.

Connect the green earth lead to the earth (

Connect the green earth lead from the energizer to the earth peg.
5.
Connect the yellow fence lead to the fence ( ) terminal on the energizer.
6.
Connect the yellow lead to the fence. Make sure there is a good contact. If necessary, carefully strip the polywire to expose steel strands in order to
provide a good connection.
Operating Speedrite model SG1
Switching on and off
1.
To switch on the energizer, press
The two indicator lights illuminate briefly, then the pulse indicator will flash.
2.
To switch off the energizer, press
The pulse indicator will stop flashing.
Changing pulse speed
1.
To change the pulse speed, press
Fast pulse speed pulses every 1.5 seconds to maximise energizer effectiveness.
Slow pulse speed pulses every 2.5 seconds to maximise battery life.
Note: The energizer pulses at fast speed when first switched on. The pulse indicator light flashes each time the energizer pulses.
Operating Speedrite model SG3
Speedrite model SG3 has an optional security locking feature that requires a security code to be entered to switch on the energizer.
Switching on and off when the energizer is not security locked
1.
To switch on, press
and hold until the display turns on.
2.
To switch off, press
and hold until the display turns off.
Switching on and off when the energizer is security locked
1.
Press and hold
until the display turns on and shows two question marks
2.
Press
repeatedly until your security code appears on the display.
3.
Press
briefly to unlock and turn on the energizer.
Note: To step through numbers more quickly, press and hold down
If you enter an incorrect security code five times, the display shows
the energizer unlocked.
