Risk of injury
Prolonged exposure to excessive sound levels

can lead to hearing damage and permanent
hearing loss caused by noise.
Therefore, use the lowest possible volume
levels.
If you suffer from tinnitus, do not use headphones, or

reduce the volume.
According to regulations to protect employees

against damages caused by noise and vibrations,
please follow these instructions:

When connecting the headphones, please ensure

that the volume is turned down to minimum. Adjust
the volume after putting on the headphones.
Danger to life
� Headphones drastically reduce perception
of external sounds. Using headphones in
road traffic can be potentially dangerous.
The user's hearing must not be impaired to
the extent that it causes road safety risks.
Please also make sure that you do not use
the headphones in traffic or within an area
of potentially dangerous machines and tools.
� Furthermore, avoid using the headphones in
situations where hearing must not be affected,
especially when crossing a railway crossing or at a
construction site.

The DT 990 PRO X is an open-back studio headphone
for professional mixing, analytical listening and
editing in the studio.
Due to the low-impedance STELLAR.45 driver, the
DT 990 PRO X is compatible with various playback
devices.
The detachable, single-sided mini XLR cable makes
it easier to handle the DT 990 PRO X when it has to
be used frequently.
The rugged headband made of spring steel gives
the DT 990 PRO X a secure fit and the mechanical
reliability needed for daily use.
Soft ear and headband pads contribute to a high
long-term comfort when wearing. If necessary,
headband and ear pads can be replaced.
The connection cable is provided with a gold-plated
mini stereo jack plug (3.5 mm) with a 1/4" adapter
(6.35 mm) and can be connected to all common
headphone outputs.
As with any equipment which will be used near sen-
sitive areas of the body, it is essential that the ear
pads and headband are kept clean.
Use a soft cloth moistened with water for cleaning.
Make sure that no water drops into the ear cups or
transducers.
If necessary, you can carefully remove the ear pads
and headband pad and clean them with mild soapy
water.
Never use any solvent cleaning agents!
Furthermore, the pads must be completely dry
before they are re-attached to the
DT 990 PRO X.
Never use a vaccum cleaner for cleaning the
DT 990 PRO X, as this may cause irreparable
damage.
Should it become necessary to replace the ear pads
or the headband pad, refer to "Replacement parts".
You can easily do this yourself.
If other components must be replaced, please
contact your local beyerdynamic representative.
