3.1 General installation instructions

The duct smoke detector is mounted and installed with the provided mounting screws
and seals on the external wall of the ventilation duct. When selecting the installation loca-
tion, please ensure that the inlet pipe at the installation location can be replaced.
If the inlet pipe is not shortened, there must be a clearance of min. 470 mm. If the internal
diameter of the ventilation duct is smaller than 350 mm, the inlet pipe must be shortened
accordingly.
The pipe must not be warped in the process!
In order to guarantee safe smoke detection, the inlet pipe must be immersed in
the duct with at least five openings (min. 140 mm, see Fig. 2).
– Installation
The duct smoke detector must be installed centrally (see Fig.2) and axially in the air
flow direction of the ventilation duct (see Fig.5). Make sure that the installation is as
vibration-free as possible!
1. Two opening holes Ø 28-30 mm must be made 150 mm apart in the ventilation duct
(cf. Fig.5) for the inlet and outlet pipe.
2. In order to mount the ventilation duct base to the external wall, use the provided
tapping screws and seals (hole spacing 206 mm, cf. Fig.5).
