Use the system components only within the temperatures
specifi ed in the section about "Technical information".
Higher or lower temperatures could lead to the device
not working properly!
Preparing for fi rst use
Preparation and materials required
The items described below are not supplied with the device.
This information and dimensions are given for guidance
only and may not be appropriate in all cases. The quality of
materials required should be selected to suit the situation at
the installation site.
You will need:
-
8 batteries 1.5 V type LR6 (mignon / AA, alkaline)
(not included) for the power supply to the control unit
and the external siren.
-
A pencil for marking the mounting points.
-
A cross-head screwdriver for mounting the device using
the mounting screws and dowels.
-
A hammer-action drill (and drill bit) for mounting the
device using the mounting screws and dowels.
-
A hand drill / electronic screwdriver for drilling out the
ø 2 mm mounting holes p on the rear of the housing o
of the motion detector.
-
Ear protection.

Positioning

Control unit

The control unit must be positioned in dry areas inside
buildings only.
Ensure that the position is easily reached but not im-
mediately noticeable.
External siren
Position the external siren in a position as sheltered from
the weather as possible outside the building or in a dry
place inside the building.
Safety advice / Preparing for first use / Assembly and installation
Ensure that it can be easily heard but is not easily
accessible to an intruder.
Motion detector
Position the motion detector in a dry place inside the
building at a height of approx. 1.5 to 2 m.
Ensure that the normal range (approx. 6 m) of the motion
detector covers an area that an intruder could use (see Fig. I).
The motion detector reacts to movement of sources of
heat within the detection range. Select this range so
that false alarms caused by pets and other changing
heat sources e.g. emitters of heat or light (e.g. solar or
halogen radiation) cannot occur. The range of the motion
detector depends on temperature, size and direction of
motion of the object. In general the sensor detects motion
transverse to the sensor better than motion directly
towards or away from it. If possible you should select a
corner position for the motion detector with no windows
or heaters in its detection range.

Assembly and installation

Tip! Ensure before you install the sensor and the external
siren that the cable is long enough for the distances to
be traversed. Ensure that the cable cannot become
drawn over sharp edges or become squashed or trapped.
Place the cable so that it as inaccessible as possible to
an intruder. Use the ten cable clips to attach the cable
to walls, ceilings or fl oors.
Control unit
Unscrew the four fastening screws Y of the control
unit and remove the rear of the housing T .
Mark two holes 60 mm apart at the selected installation
position.
Drill the two holes for the two dowels (27 x 6 mm) and
insert the dowels into the holes.
Screw the two mounting screws (22 x 4 mm) into the
dowels until the screw heads project approx. 5 mm.
Guide the cable of the motion detector i through the
