Product liability
In accordance with the liability of manufacturers for their products as defined in the German "Produkthaftungs-
gesetz" (Product Liability Act), the information contained in these instructions (product information and proper
use, misuse, product performance, product maintenance, obligations to provide information and instructions) is
to be observed. Non-compliance releases the manufacturer from its statutory liability.

Safety
4. 1
Intended use
The PERLAN AUT-NT sliding door drive is designed for the automatic opening and closing of the sliding leaves.
The sliding door drive is designated to be installed at a height of approx. 2.5 m above the floor.
The PERLAN AUT-NT sliding door drive is suitable for use in dry rooms in private areas.
The PERLAN AUT-NT sliding door drive may not be used at fire or smoke protection doors and in a hazardous (Ex)
area.
The PERLAN AUT-NT sliding door drive may not be used to open and close vertical sliding leaves.
Any other use than the proper use, such as permanent manual operation, as well as all changes to the product
are impermissible.
4.2
ATTENTION: Important instructions for safe installation. Observe all the
instructions, incorrect installation can result in serious injuries.
To ensure personal safety, it is important to follow these instructions.
Keep these instructions.
à Only specialists who are authorised by GEZE are permitted to carry out installation, commissioning and main-
tenance.
à GEZE shall not be liable for injuries or damage resulting from unauthorised modification of the system.
à GEZE shall not be liable if products from other manufacturers are used with GEZE equipment. Only original
GEZE parts may be used for repair and maintenance work as well.
à Before installation of the drive, check whether the driven component is in a good mechanical condition, can
be opened and closed easily and is balanced in terms of weight.
à The connection to the mains supply must be carried out by a qualified electrician. Mains connection and the
equipment earth conductor test must be performed in accordance with VDE 0100 Part 610.
à The electrical installation at the customer has to have an all-pole power disconnector that can be secured
reliably against reactivating (e.g. lockable switch with at least 3 mm contact opening).
à Attach safety stickers to glass door leaves, mat. no. 081476.
à In accordance with Machinery Directive 98/37/EC, a safety analysis is to be performed and the door system
identified in compliance with CE Identification Directive 93/68/EEC before the door system is commissioned.
à Observe the latest versions of directives, standards and country-specific regulations, in particular:
à BGR 232 „Guidelines for power-operated windows, doors and gates"
à AutSchR „Guidelines on automatic sliding doors in escape and rescue routes"
à EN 16005 „Power operated pedestrian doorsets – Safety in use – Requirements and test methods"
à DIN VDE 100-600 „Installation of low-voltage systems - Part 6 Tests"
à DIN EN 60335-2-103 „Household and similar electrical appliances - Safety; Particular requirements for drives
for gates, doors and windows"
à Accident-prevention regulations, especially BGV A1 (VBG1) „General regulations", BGV A3 (VBG4) „Electrical-
systems and equipment"
à A damp cloth is used for cleaning normal soiling off the track. If necessary, a mild, environmentally friendly
cleaning agent can be used (e.g. customary washing-up liquid). Aggressive cleaning agents must be avoided.

Safety-conscious working

Protect the workplace against unauthorised entry.

Use only cables specified in the cable plan and shield in accordance with the wiring diagram.

The drive must be disconnected from the power supply during cleaning, maintenance and replacement of
parts.
X
Before working on the electrical system disconnect the drive from the 230 V mains network and check the
safe isolation from supply.
à Note that the system will still be supplied with power, despite the fact that the power supply is disconnected,
if an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) is used.
X
Always use insulated wire-end ferrules for wire cores.
à Danger of injury by sharp edges in the drive!
