REAR PANEL
22. AC INPUT – the AC input accepts voltages between 100 V
and 240 V at 50 Hz and 60 Hz, via a standard IEC C13
lead (supplied). See specification table for the value of the
replaceable fuse.
23. COMPRESSOR/LIMITER OUTPUT – the line output of the
compressor/limiter or the combined sections in joint mode.
24. COMPRESSOR/LIMITER INPUT – line input to the
compressor/limiter section when in split mode. In joint mode
this socket is inactive.
25. INPUT Z – use this switch to set the input impedance
of the compressor/limiter when used a standalone unit.
Select between 15 kΩ or 600 Ω.
26. PREAMPLIFIER OUTPUT – the line output of the
preamplifier when in split mode. In joint mode this socket
is inactive.
27. PREAMPLIFIER LINE INPUT – line level input to the
preamplifier, selected by switch 2 on the front panel.
28. PREAMPLIFIER MIC INPUT – microphone level input to the
preamplifier, selected by switch 2 on the front panel.
29. METER CALIBRATION – allows the calibration of the meter
(16). Should only be used by qualified personnel.

Unpacking

Carefully unpack your 676 unit. Then, inspect the unit carefully for
any signs of damage that may have occurred during transit and
notify the courier immediately if you discover any.
Check the contents of your 676 equipment package. If there are
any parts missing, incorrect or faulty,
please contact your local distributor or Behringer support.
Inside this box, you should find the following items:
• 676
• IEC power cable
• Quick Start Guide
Please retain the original packing in case you should need
to return the equipment to the manufacturer or supplier,
or transport or ship the unit later.
Installation
Before installing and operating this equipment, make sure it is
correctly connected to the protective earth conductor of the mains
voltage supply socket outlet through each mains lead.
Ideally a cool area is preferred, away from power distribution
equipment or other potential sources of interference.
Do not install the equipment in places of poor ventilation. Do not
install this equipment in a location subjected to excessive heat,
dust or mechanical vibration.
Allow for adequate ventilation around the equipment,
making sure that its vents are not obstructed.
Whenever possible, keep the equipment out of direct sunlight.
Power
The internal power supplies are of the switch mode type that
automatically senses the incoming mains voltage and will work
where the nominal voltage is in the range 100 VAC to 240 VAC.
The correct leads for connection in the area to which the unit was
shipped are supplied with the unit.
The equipment should only be plugged into the mains outlets
using the supplied leads.
Make sure the plug fitted on the supplied mains cable is securely
fitted to the mains IEC connector on the unit.
When fitting or removing a plug, always hold the plug itself and
never use the cable, as this may damage it.
Never insert or remove an electric plug with wet hands.

Connecting up
The 676 unit uses the following leads and connectors:
Power Connection:
Standard IEC cable
Inputs:
3-pin XLR Female & 6.35 mm (1/4") jack
Outputs:
3-pin XLR Male
To set up the rear meter trimmer:
1. Disconnect any input signals from the unit.
2. Power up the unit for a few minutes.
3. Set the rotary Meter switch to GR.
4. Set attack and release to fast.
5. Adjust the rear panel Meter trimmer to get a reading of
exactly 0 on the meter scale.
