5. Changing the battery
WARNING! Risk of material damage!
Be sure to observe the correct polarity
when inserting the batteries 7 (graphic
on the bottom of the battery compart-
ment).
NOTES:
•
If the display shows LO, the batteries
are almost empty and must be re-
placed.
•
A battery change resets the unit of
measurement to the factory settings.
1. Switch on the device using the button
TARE 2.
2. Open the battery compartment 5 on
the underside of the device.
3. Remove the batteries.
4. Figure A: if necessary, replace the old
batteries with new ones. Be sure to ob-
serve the graphics illustrating the align-
ment of the batteries on the bottom of
the battery compartment 5.
5. Close the battery compartment with the
lid 6.

NOTE: the two buttons
UNIT 4 react to gentle contact and do not
need to be pressed.
6.1 Switching on/off
WARNING! Risk of material damage!
Never place loads greater than 5.1 kg
on the kitchen scale.
NOTE: the kitchen scale can weigh in the
range from 3 g to 5.0 kg. If a total weight of
5.1 kg is exceeded, the display will show
Err.
1. Place the kitchen scale on a flat, level
surface.
2. Briefly touch the
ter all display segments have been
checked, 0 g appears. The kitchen
scale is ready to use.
3. After weighing, briefly touch the
TARE 2 button to switch the kitchen
scale off.

The kitchen scale will switch off auto-
matically 3 minutes after the last button
is touched or after the last measure-
ment.
